The literature on the birds of this area is excessively scattered, and one of the functions of this review paper is to provide bibliographic references to recent litera- ture of the various species, in order to make it more readily available to new students. Another object of this paper, as of the previous install- ments of this series, is to indicate intraspecific trends of geographic varia- tion in the Bismarck Archipelago and the Solomon Islands and to state for each species from where it colonized northern Melanesia. Such in- formation is recorded in preparation of an eventual zoogeographic and evolutionary analysis of the bird fauna of the area. Outline of angiosperm phylogeny: orders, families, and representative genera with emphasis on Oregon native plants Priscilla Spears December 2013 The following listing gives an introduction to the phylogenetic classification of the flowering plants that has emerged in recent decades, and which is based on nucleic acid sequences as well as morphological and developmental data. This listing emphasizes temperate families of the Northern Hemisphere and is meant as an overview with examples of Oregon native plants. It includes many exotic genera that are grown in Oregon as ornamentals plus other plants of interest worldwide. The genera that are Oregon natives are printed in a blue font. Genera that are exotics are shown in black, however genera in blue may also contain non-native species. Names separated by a slash are alternatives or else the nomenclature is in flux. When several genera have the same common name, the names are separated by commas. The order of the family names is from the linear listing of families in the APG III report. Email: [email protected] Received: 13 Aug 2011, Revised and Accepted: 11 Sep 2011 ABSTRACT The present paper deals with the phytochemical screening of therapeutic importance from Myrsine africana, an important medicinal plant. This study involves the preliminary screening and quantitative determination of secondary metabolites from the fruits of M.africana. The phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of saponins, tannins, flavonoids, amino acids, steroids and reducing sugar. The amount of the saponins and tannins in methanolic extracts are reported (17.5% and 4% respectively). The generated data has provided the basis for its wide use as the therapeutant both in the traditional and folk medicines. Keywords: Myrsine Africana, Fruits, Phytochemical analysis. The most pollen for pollination in flowering plants and provision of frequent types of pollen and stamen imitations were pollen for offspring in bees. -

The new species is closely related to L. carinata because of the crested calyx, but differs in the leaf blades that are ovate to elliptic and (3–)4.5–9×2–3.4 cm, 2–5- OPEN ACCESS flowered racemes, and the calyx lobes that are ovate-lanceolate and 5–6×3–4 mm.
