Joe Dimeo suffered severe burns from a car accident in 2018. Doctors just completed an incredible surgery that took nearly 24 hours. Joe is the first man ever to receive both a face and hand transplant. Both from the same donor. Joe says he has to retrain himself to use his hands, but eventually he'll be fully independent. An elementary school in Torrance, California has a mascot named Fernie. The blue and yellow bird has been keeping busy visiting homes to lift the spirits of kids. So far he's visited 30 families, plus five different school sites and 15 local businesses. School counselor Eric Daughtery says it's the perfect way to help student's mental health.
