SENIOR SECONDARY MES CENTRAL SCHOOL,TIRUR. Annual Report 2018-19

Dr. A P J ABDUL KALAM, the great Indian once said, “The ignited minds of the youth are the most powerful resource on the earth, above the earth and under the earth”. We, the MES Central School fraternity absolutely believe in the great fact as Dr.Kalam reminded.

I am honored and privileged to present the annual report of Senior Secondary MES Central School Tirur, for the year 2018-19.Our school is one among the prestigious and popular educational establishments in present . The humble beginning in 1990 with 5 staff and 55 students has reached the glory of meridian by completing 29 years of excellence. The visionary leadership of our beloved Chairman, Jb.E.P.Moyinkutty and Secretary Jb. Abdul Kader Sherief.M, leads us to keep our school in its glory.

The school is managed by the Muslim Educational Society emphasizing three predominant principles such as faith, knowledge and service, by holding on to secularism and cosmopolitan values. The powers and responsibilities are subjugated at various levels such as preprimary, primary, secondary, senior secondary and IGCSE. The MES fraternity consists of school governing body (SGB), Chairman, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Principal, H.M’s,Office superintendent, team of dedicated Teachers and Non-teaching staff.

The cognitive development of a child is the ultimate aim of education and the policy of Senior Secondary MES Central School Tirur. It provides an atmosphere based on the latest CBSE curriculum to enable our students to excel in knowledge, skills, ethics and values. Evaluation, up gradation and motivation for the achievement of goals and objects are systematically channelized.The joint effort initiated by the MES fraternity has brought laurels to the glory of our school.

During the beginning of the academic year the northern districts of Kerala got affected with Nipha and the schools reopened only during the second week of June. Our school reopened on 11th June 2018, with 3000 students 258 teaching staff 19 administrative staff and 50supporting staff on roll. The team of teachers under the leadership of Principal, Sri. JaimonMaleakudy and Vice Principal Sri. Madhoosudhanan V P planned various academic and nonacademic activities for the excellent academic result and achievements. Sri. Manojkumar took charge as the HM of senior secondary section.

The academic calendar of the school is scheduled as per the latest direction of CBSE by including three periodical tests and annual examination for all classes from IV to X. For senior secondary classes academic schedule is prepared based on terminal examinations and final examinations.

During the month of August the unexpected torrents of heavy rain caused irreparable loss to the entire Kerala, our school also got affected by floods and we lost many working days. But with the sincere effort of the entire staff we recovered the loss by working for extra hours and holidays.

MONTESSORY HOUSE OF CHILDREN

We realized as Madam Maria Montessorihasviewed, education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual and is acquired not by listening to words but by real experience in a prepared environment. The Montessori system is based on self-discipline self-governess and free movement by keeping the child as the center of education and the directress as the guide and observer. The environments are set apart in which the child’s personality is made to bloom and grow to the fullest potential. We begin the Montessori at the age of two and a half years, in the little Gem’s play school.Preprimary Montessori headed by Mrs. SHERLY VARGHESE as the HM and Primary Montessori headed by Mr BENNY P.T, and Mrs JYOTHI GOPAL as the Asst. HM has been maintaining our Montessori as one of the best in . The cultural exhibition of Montessori section GAIETY will be held in the month of January 2019

IGCSE

As a mission to up lift our school to aninternational scenario of Global standard we started aseparate batch for IGCSE in 2014.During the current academic year we have classes from grades IV to X. Our school is recognized by PEARSON EDEXCEL, London- UK. Our second batch of IGCSE passed out during 2018 January. Our school is recognized as the examination center for the prestigious International examination. The students from IGCSE have been participating in national and international level of competitions and have won several prizes.

Achievements in academics:-

14 students appeared in the second batch in the International examination, Shameena Shafi scored A* for all subjects and Fathima Mehjabin and Ismaheel Faheem scored A* in six subjects and turned as the International super achievers. NaeemNazer, HibaFaizal and Haneena N became the International achievers with A in more than five subjects. The performance of these students are Internationally recognized and appreciated.

Extracurricular achievements.

We have a separate department for coordinating all co-curricular and extra- curricular activities in our school under the leadership of Mr.P.Karunakaran, as CCA Chief Coordinator. This year we have conducted the following activities, under the auspices of CCA and various Clubs: 1. We are the overall champions in the Lingua gusto- The English fest conducted by central Sahodaya Tirur region.

2. Our school won overall fist runner up championship in the Malappuram Sahodaya CBSE district athletic meet. We are the champions in under 12, under 14 and under 19 categories.

3. We are the 2 runner up in All Kerala MES Chess championship. Our school is the first runner up in Malappuram Chess Championship organized by Malappuram Central Sahodaya

4. Muhammed Basil and Kenz E of our school won the second prize with a cash award in All Kerala Inter school space quiz organized by Vikram Sarabhai Space Center

5. Three students of our school won the medal of distinction in the Zonal level in the International general Knowledge Olympiad.

6. Our school won the overall championship in the Roller-skating championship. Kum.Anamika R secured 2 silver medals and is selected for the national championship. Anamika, Pavana Santhosh and Aryalakshmi are the individual champions.

7. Vigilance Awareness week was observed in our school and the Vigilance departmentconducted poster designing competitions for the students. AshwinJaimon and Lujainof XI and Hisham of XII standard won the prizes and cash award.

8. In Race 2 IAS model Civil service Exam main Muhammed Basil has secured 2 rank, and Feba Najim won 10thrank in Cat.1, Fathima Shahana and Fathima Musthafa won 7th and 9th rank respectively.

9.On 14th November, BIG BUZZ CONTEST, a quiz programme was held at Ideal Public School, and our school team consisting of M AdityaUnni and Kenz E S won the second position with a cash award ofRs 3000.

10. We are the 3rd runner up in under 17 MES state football tournament.

Days and observations

1. Readers day was observed with reading competition under the auspices of readers club. Poster designing was conducted on that day.

2. International Yoga day was celebrated on 21st June 2018 Mass Yoga demonstration was conducted with the participation of students and staff.

3. World music day was celebrated on 21stJune with a seminar on music.

4. Doctors day was observed on 2 July under the auspices of health Club, Dr.T P Ibrahim was the chief guest and he delivered an inspiring awareness session to the students. Medical checkup was conducted for all classes

5. On July 12th we observed world Malala day with special assembly and special programmes

6. Vision-2018 was conducted on July 18thJustice. (Rtd), K KAMAL PASHA, of Kerala High Court was the Chief Guest. The toppers in CBSE examination Class X and XII were honored by eminent personalities. Induction of the school cabinet and Houses were done on the same day.

7. Annual Book fairwas conducted on 18thto 22ndof July, 2018. The students, parents and staff members found it very useful to have acquaintance and familiarization to the world of new books. School Chairman Sri E P Moyinkutty inaugurated the Book fair. As part of the book fairan interaction session with the eminent writer AlankodeLeelakrishnan on modern literature was also conducted. It was really a memorable experience for the students

8. On August 7th, an exhibition was conducted as a part of Day celebration. It was inaugurated by the Principal.

9. Independence Day was celebrated on August 15. MES Tirur unit President Sr. P A Rasheed was the chief guest on the occasion. Variety progammes on national integrity were conducted as part of the celebration.

10. Inter house art and literary competitions-Arts Fest 2018was conducted on 24th November2018.

11. On October 2nd Gandhi Jayanthi day, a seminar was conducted on Gandhian thoughts by Heal Club. Cleaning Campaign at was done by the members of Heal Club.

12. On November 1st Kerala Piravi Day was celebrated with special assembly and a Cultural programme “Keralam-charithrapadhangal” by the Dept. of CCA. 13. Children’s day was celebrated with the special programmeon Nov. 14th:RememberingChachaji “a talent show on dedication to national integration. 14. Annual Athletic Meet was held on Novemeber 16th and 19th. Mr.HARIKRISHNANA PILLAI Circle Inspector of Center Exciseinaugurated the function. 15. Annual arts festival off stage items were conducted on 24th of Nov.

16. Motivational sessions were conducted for the parents and students of class X and XII. The eminent trainer Guinness world record holder Dr. BinuKannathanan, and Mr. Jaleel of Carrier guru handled the sessions.

17. Study tour were conducted for lower classes. We celebrated all other days of national importance in its pomp and pride.

Special move

As our state has faced the natural calamity during the heavy flood , our school also joined with their sorrows and extended maximum support. We distributed dress worth of Rs. 2,41,000/- for the victims in the different relief camps, Snehasparsam 2018. The exhibition of the arts and craft works of our students and staff was conducted in Tirur hall and the amount collected with the sale of the exhibits was handed over to the Chief Ministers relief fund. Our parents contribution of Rs. 3,66,000/- and staff contribution of Rs. 2,00,000/- towards flood relief fund was handed over to MES relief fund.

Parents support.

The cooperation and support of the parentscommunity of our schools is really appreciable. We have selected two representatives from each section. They have been extending their valuable advice and support to the school to keep it in its zenith.

We realize that Education is a continuous systematic and comprehensive process. The enrichment of students is effectively terminated by the team of teachers of MES Central school Tirur, for whom teaching is a passion, an expedition and moreover a dedication. We nurture our students for a better future and a best life befittingfor the society, for the nation and for the whole world. Let the almighty shower His blessings upon this institution and helps us to achieve all our dreams.
