BEE FRIENDLY Denver Golf's environmentally friendly initiatives

This month our Bee Friendly program highlights the Harvard Gulch Vegetable Gardens! Starting in 2016, the surrounding landscape around the Harvard Gulch clubhouse was converted to multiple vegetable gardens. Every year, the produce from these gardens has provided generous donations to the local community. We grow about 40-50 different vegetables and herbs. From June through September the garden flourishes. We estimate about 500 lbs per year are being donated in total. In 2018 we were fortunate to have some local children from surrounding recreation centers tour our gardens and learn about vegetable gardening as well as some . We also plant pollinator gardens throughout the vegetable landscape to provide food and habitat for all types of pollinators.
