DAVE SHOLIN'S Personal Picks - SINGLES ERIC MARTIN - Information (Capitol) Quite a transformation from his debut LP a few years back. His talent as a vocalist can't be denied. Match his maturity as an artist with the productions of Kortchmar and Ladanyi, some great players, and this soulful aide, and you've got a tasty combination.

www.americanradiohistory.com Ronnie Milsap has been makin' music for most of his life. Born in North Carolina, he attended the Governor Morehead School For The Blind. It was there that he received a formal training in classical music. He later turned down a scholarship to Emory University School of Law in favor of playing music for a living. He's been makin' music professionally for two decades, running the gamut from R &B with Scepter Records in the mid - sixties, to doing session work with Elvis in the late sixties, and finally signing on with RCA in the early seventies. He's established himself solidly in the field, while never being afraid to cross over into Top 40 and A/C on the slightest whim. RONNIE MILSAP ...MAKIN' M by RON FELL & LISA SMITH

C. , WAMO- challenge in last week's "Summary" get to the top of "Chartbound" Pittsburgh, WVBX- Georgetown, and went after her #1 labelmate ahead of the rest, looking like two WTLC -Indianapolis, KMJM -St. Louis, and jumped her for the number one major possibilities for the chart KHYS -Pt.Arthur, KMJQ- Houston. spot. READY FOR THE WORLD next week. Getting on to newer DURELL COLEMAN racks up some looks like the next number one items, "Most Added" was a tie impressive adds his first week out: go- getter, but the biggest chart between ATLANTIC STARR, which WTLC -Indianapolis, WQQK /FM- gain of the week goes to ANDRE appeared last week for the first Nashville, WANM -Tallahassee, WOWI- CYMONE and it should go top time on the page, and a newer Norfolk, WQKI -St. Matthews, KMJM- ten next week. New FREDDIE entry, RENE & ANGELA. This St. Louis, and KHYS -Pt. Arthur. JACKSON goes top 20 and my was such a popular LP cut while A probable sleeper could be the reporters say "the ladies love it!" their first single was charting that GOON SQAUD's "8 Arms To Hold FAMILY debuts and goes "Certified" many of you have told me this week You ". It goes to #9 at KMJQ- Houston, and, as predicted four weeks ago, that you've added it to medium or #15 at WNOV -Milwaukee, #18 -WOWI- the BOBBY WOMACK is a hot num- heavy rotation because of previous Norfolk, and #25 KRNB- Memphis, as ber and gets the other "Certified ". light rotation airplay as an album well as being on at WDKX- Rochester, I hear he's headed for New York to cut. DOUG E. FRESH makes the NY, WHRK- Memphis, KIIZ -Killeen, play on the next Rolling Stones page because of adds at WQQK /FM- KJLH -Los Angeles, and gets added album and he'll be doing some Nashville, WWDM /FM- Sumter, KMJM- this week at KNOK - Dallas /Ft.Worth background vocals on the same. St. Louis, WJLB -Detroit, KKDA- and KKDA in that same city, and Meanwhile, his own "wish" is Dallas, KMJQ- Houston and KSOL /FM- WYLD -New Orleans. Lyrics are getting heavy airplay and great San Francisco. It's also #2 at different and that might be why it's chart gains. The girls of KLYMAXX KDAY -Los Angeles, #4 at WRKS -New catching on. Betty move hot numbers that debut with York and #6 at KGFJ -Los Angeles. "I Miss You ". No surprise that DENNIS EDWARDS was another one JENNIFER HOLLIDAY and MAURICE that had strong adds this week: 43 the GAVIN REPORT /August 16. 1985

Some boards sprouted han- dlebar moustaches on the guys' pic- tures, others had clown noses, horns, false glasses, beards, etc. Confusion reigned. After many clues, it turned out that O'Connor was the vandal. Seems his name gets second billing (Buck & O'Connor) on everything, so he defaced the boards. Punishment?
