The Daily Prayer Page 1 of 2 This extended version of the Daily Prayer is a compilation of several prayers brought together by Joshua Rupp, Worship Arts Director at Gaylord E-Free Church. These include excerpts from: the Prayer of St Patrick, the Jesus Prayer, the Trisagian Prayer, and the names of God whose meanings are written out as a prayer. However, the bulk of the Daily Prayer was constructed by Ransomed Heart Ministries with John Eldridge. Here is an explanation of the prayer from ransomedheart.com: Over the years we have grown in our understanding of prayer, and spiritual warfare, and of our need to be restored in the life of God each day. And so we have developed this prayer, which we call The Daily Prayer. It is entirely based on Scripture, almost like praying the Scriptures. May it be a source of life to you. Daily. Invocation: Jehovah-Elohim: transcendent Trinity and Creator of all, Jehova-Yahweh: the Self Existing “I Am” whose covenant with me is as endless as Your eternal existence, Jehovah-Jireh: the Lord my provider of all needs physical, emotional, spiritual and relational, Jehovah-Rophe: the Lord my Healer who aligns my body in health and wholeness and mends the broken wings of my soul through love, hope, faith and forgiveness, Jehovah-Nissi: the Lord my Banner and my 10 foot flag to rally and motivate my heart and all my valiant energies, Jehovah-M'Kaddesh: the Lord who Sanctifies me, sets me apart for holiness and consecrates me to a life of obedience, Jehovah-Shalom: the Lord my Peace when life doesn't makes sense, when I release an offense, when I surrender resistance, when I pursue recompense when I yield and rest, Jehovah-Tsidkenu the Lord my Righteousness who balances the scales of justice as He deems fit and exonerates me with full pardon, Jehovah-Rohi: the Lord my Shepherd who speaks & I know His voice and who uses his rod and staff to comfort my heart and guide my path with vigilance and loving-kindness and seats me at His table to dine with Him, Jehovah-Tsebaioth: the Lord of angelic hosts and commander of heaven's might who defends me and saves the day, Jehovah-Shammah: the Lord is THERE and has made His dwelling within my very heart and soul, El Elyon: the most high God exalted and glorious who I kneel and bow before in worship, El-Roi: the God who Sees me and opens my eyes with new revelation and teaches me with clear understanding, El-Shaddai: the almighty self-sufficient one all sufficient for everything everywhere every time, El-Olam: the everlasting God who is never taken by surprise, Adonai: my Master, to whom I give full allegiance, Yeshua: my Savior, Abba Father, who Fathers me perfectly with love & discipline, you are omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, immutable, incomprehensible, sovereign, jealous, wrathful, truthful, trustworthy, just, merciful, long-suffering, all- wise, all-loving, always good, always faithful, & I pray Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on me. LORD I come to you now to be restored in you, to be renewed in you, to receive your love and your life, and all the grace and mercy I so desperately need this day. I honor you as my Sovereign, and I surrender every aspect and dimension of my life totally and completely to you. I give you my spirit (pneuma: the immaterial part of me which lives on forever), soul (psyche: my unique person-hood and personality that makes me different from everybody else) and mortal body (diet, exercise, sleep and sexuality), my heart (emotions and passions and motives), mind (thoughts, imaginations and intellect), and will (decisions, impulses and disciplines). I ask you to cover every part of myself with the blood of Christ and I yearn for your Holy Spirit to restore my alignment in you, renew my intimacy with you, and lead me in this time of prayer. I stand in total agreement with your Spirit, and with my intercessors and allies, by your Spirit alone. In all that I now pray, I include (my spouse and/or children, by name). Also I include my loved ones and my enemies including (by name) and I ask you to cover them with your blood – their spirit, soul and body, their heart, mind and will. I ask your Spirit to restore them in you, renew them in you, and apply to them all that I now pray on their behalf. Adoration, Devotion, Confession: O God, holy and victorious Trinity, you alone are worthy of all my worship, my heart’s devotion, all my praise, all my trust and all the glory of my life. I love you, I worship you, I trust you. I give myself over to you in my heart’s search for life. You alone are Life, and you have become my life. I renounce all other gods, all idols, and I give you the place in my heart and in my life that you truly deserve. I confess here and now that this is all about you, God, and not about me. You are the Hero of this story, and I belong to you. And so I ask your forgiveness for my every sin. Search me and know me, cleanse me and reveal to me where you are working and what you are asking in my life, and grant to me the grace of your healing and deliverance, and a deep and true repentance. Prayer to the Father: Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and choosing me before you made the world. You are my true Father—my Creator, my Redeemer, my Sustainer, and the true end of all things, including my life. I honor you as my Sovereign. I love you, I trust you, I worship you, I embrace you. I give myself over to you to be one with you in all things, as Jesus is one with you. Thank you for proving your love by sending Jesus. I receive him and all his life and all his work, which you ordained and provided for me. Thank you for including me in Christ, for forgiving me my sins, for granting me his righteousness, for making me complete in him. Thank you for making me alive with Christ, raising me with him, seating me with him at your right hand, establishing me in his authority, and anointing me with your Holy Spirit, your love and your favor. In you I live and move and have my being by Your strength to pilot me, Your might to uphold me, Your wisdom to enlighten me, Your eye to look before me, Your ear to hear me, Your word to speak to me and for me, Your hand to guard me, Your path and will to lie before me, Your shield to protect me, Your host to save me, from snares of devils, from temptations of vices, from everyone who shall wish me ill, afar and anear, alone and in multitude. I receive all these provisions and lavish gifts with humble gratitude and give them total claim to my life—my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind and will. Page 2 of 2 Prayer to the Son: Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Jesus, thank you for coming to ransom me with your own life. I honor you as my Sovereign. I love you, I worship you, I trust you. I give myself over to you to be one with you in all things. I sincerely receive you as my deliverer from sin and death and judgement and from the kingdom of darkness and its every claim made against me. His Death: I receive all the work and all of the triumph of your cross, death, blood and sacrifice for me, through which I am atoned for, I am ransomed and transferred to your kingdom, my sin nature is removed, my heart is circumcised unto you my Lord. So I now take my place in your cross and death, through which I have died with you to sin, to my flesh, to the world, and to the evil one. I take up the cross and crucify my flesh with all its pride, arrogance, unbelief, idolatry, (and anything else you are struggling with). I put off the old man. I ask you to apply to me the work, triumph and fullness of your cross, death, blood and sacrifice. I receive this deliverance with thanks and give it total claim to my spirit, soul and body, my heart, mind and will. His Resurrection: Jesus, I also sincerely receive you as my life, my holiness and strength, and I receive all the work and triumph of your resurrection and life, through which you have conquered sin and death and judgment. Death has no mastery over you, nor does any foul thing. And I have been raised with you to a new life, to live your life – dead to sin and alive to God. So I now take my place in your resurrection and in your life, through which I am saved by your life. I reign in life through your life – all your love, your humility, your forgiveness, your authority, your integrity in all things, your wisdom and discernment, your strength and courage and valor, your joy, your creativity and ingenuity, your union with the Father. I make no provision for anything else anywhere in me. I give you total claim to my spirit, soul and body, my heart, mind and will.
