Exciting News EXCITING NEWS FORMER BRAZILIAN NATIONAL TEAM HEAD COACH –- KLEITON LIMA -- JOINS SOCCER EXPLORER, INC. AS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR Soccer Explorer proudly announces that Kleiton Lima, former Head Coach of the Brazilian Women’s National Team and Santos FC, has joined Soccer Explorer as Technical Director. Mr. Lima’s First Project: • Mr. Lima’s rst project for Soccer Explorer will be working with Chicago Inferno to develop and implement new training platforms/programs for all of Chicago Inferno’s youth and high school age groups, with the primary goal of improving and maximizing coach performance and player development across the Club. • Mr. Lima is expected arrive in the United States and begin his work in early April. Expect to see Mr. Lima at practices and games evaluating Chicago Inferno’s existing training programs and working with the coaches to implement and oversee new programs that will enhance player development. Background on Kleiton Lima: • Mr. Lima is one of the most preeminent and highly regarded soccer coaches in the world. Mr. Lima started his coaching career in 1997 coaching the youth teams for one of the most prestigious professional soccer teams in Brazil, a team called Santos FC. Santos FC is the home club for soccer icons Pelé, Neymar and Robinho. Mr. Lima coached Santos FC club teams, both men’s and women’s teams, as well as youth and adult teams, for many years. The Santos FC teams coached by Mr. Lima were amazingly successful in developing younger, youth soccer players into top-notch professionals. • Due to his success with Santos FC, the Brazilian Football Confederation (which is the governing body for soccer in Brazil and equivalent to the U.S. Soccer Federation in the United States) selected Mr. Lima to be the Head Coach for the Under-20 Brazilian Women’s National Team. Only a short time later, the Brazilian Football Confederation chose Mr. Lima to become the Head Coach for adult Brazilian Women’s National Soccer Team. ANTECEDENTES El Estadio Manuel Ferreira, conocido popularmente como El Bosque de Para Uno, es un estadio de fútbol de Paraguay que pertenece al Club Olimpia. Durante a assembleia, cogitaram-se vários nomes (Concórdia, África, Brasil Atlético), mas prevaleceu Santos Foot-Ball Club. No dia 23 de junho, acontece o primeiro jogo-treino: o Santos ganha do Thereza Team por 2 a 1, com gols de Anacleto Ferramenta e Geraule Ribeiro. O primeiro jogo oficial acontece em 15 de setembro: 3 a 0 sobre o Athletic Club (Clube dos Ingleses). O primeiro gol oficial da história do clube é marcado por Arnaldo Silveira. 1913 Inicialmente, o Santos era tricolor (branco e azul, com frisos dourados). Mas os dirigentes tinham dificuldades para confeccionar uniformes nestas cores. Então, no dia 31 de março, por sugestão do sócio Paulo Peluccio, o time passou a jogar de calção branco e camisa com listras pretas e brancas. No dia 22 de junho, o time santista conquistou sua primeira vitória em uma competição: 6 a 3 contra o Corinthians no Parque Antárctica (atual Palestra Itália). 1915 A partir deste ano, o nome oficial passou a ser Santos Futebol Clube. 1916 No dia 12 de outubro, é inaugurada a praça de esportes da Vila Belmiro.
