Christin Baker: Back in 2007, my business partner and I wanted to work on something but we just weren’t sure what it was. YouTube was starting to become something, streaming was getting popular and AfterEllen was working on original content. So we looked at the landscape and thought, why don’t we become the lesbian YouTube? When you look at those programs with lesbian characters in them — and I’m not making a blanket statement here — there usually isn’t parity in the intimacy and physical romance. I always use the example of Orphan Black season one. If you look at who had intimate, super hot scenes, it was always Sarah and her quote/ unquote husband.
