Nov 16 – Beijing (B,L,D) Today’s highlight is an excursion to the majestic Great Wall, but before, we`ll visit the Sacred Path of the Ming Toombs, where 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty are buried. After lunch, you`ll enjoy the most famous image of China, and will have a chance to climb a portion of this 3,700-mile marvel. After that, you can choose to attend an optional tour, a large scale dramatic musical-”The Golden Mask Dynasty” ($50). Nov 17 – Beijing (B,L,D) Start the day with an excursion with lunch to the Forbidden City. The former seat of the emperors throughout the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is a true architectural masterpiece and home to the National Palace Museum. After an included lunch, proceed to the Summer Palace, a former royal retreat and now a lovely park. Then, we will pass by modern exteriors of the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube before heading to dinner. Nov 18 - Beijing – Xi`an (B,L,D) After breakfast, we`ll head to the airport to take the flight to Xi`an. Upon arrival in Xian, your first stop will be at the Buddhist Jianfu Temple, where the towering Small Wild Goose Pagoda commands panoramic views of the city. Lunch and dinner will be served in local restaurants. Nov 19: Xi`an (B,L,SD) In 221 BC, Qin Shi Huang unified China and became the first emperor. When he died, an entire Terra Cotta Army was constructed to be buried along with the emperor. It was uncovered serendipitously in 1974 by farmers, and then became one of the century's greatest archaeological discoveries. You will visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, and Terra Cotta Army replication factories. After that, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. And your dinner will be the feast of the Imperial Dumpling Banquet, followed by a splendid Tang Dynasty Stage Show.
