This Direction is given by Peter Handcock, Chief Executive of Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service, on behalf of the Lord Chancellor after consulting the Lord Chief Justice in accordance with section 2(3) of the County Courts Act 1984. It has effect from when the Civil Courts (Amendment) Order 2011 and, where applicable, the Allocation and Transfer of Proceedings (Amendment) Order 2011 come into force in respect of each of above county courts, which is the date that each court ceases to be held. Aberdare County Court- ceases to be held as of 1 August 2011 2. Merthyr Tydfil County Court takes on all the localities within the former district of Aberdare County Court. Ashford County Court- ceases to be held as of 18 July 2011 3. The district previously served by Ashford County Court is divided between Canterbury County Court and Maidstone County Court as follows: Maidstone County Court takes on the localities of Charing, Charing Heath, Egerton, Egerton Forstal, High Halden, Hothfield, Hothfield Common, Little Chart, Little Chart Forstal, Pluckley, St Michaels, Smarden, Tenterden, Tutt Hill, Westwell, Westwell Leacon, Kenardington, Small Hythe, Stone-in- Oxney, Stone-cum-ebony, Wittersham, Appledore, Appledore Heath, Brenzett, Brenzett Green and Brookland within the former district of Ashford County Court. Canterbury County Court takes on the remainder of the localities previously comprising the district of Ashford County Court. Bishop Auckland County Court - ceases to be held as of 18 July 2011 4. The Civil Courts (Amendment) Order 2011 provides for the name of the county court at Gloucester to be the Gloucester and Cheltenham County Court. 6. Gloucester and Cheltenham County Court takes on all the localities within the former district of Cheltenham County Court. Consett County Court - ceases to be held as of 18 July 2011 7. The district previously served by Consett County Court is divided between Durham County Court and Gateshead County Court as follows: Gateshead County Court takes on the localities of Burnopfield, Causey, Crookgate, Dipton, Ebchester, Flint Hill, Hamsterley Colliery, Hamsterley Mill Estate, Harelaw, High Westwood, Hobson, Leazes, Lintz, Low Westwood, Pickering Nook, Tanfield, Tanfield Lea, Tantobie, White le Head and Whittonstall within the former district of Consett County Court Durham County Court takes on the remainder of the localities previously comprising the district of Consett County Court.     KELLY'S DIRECTORY OF KENT AND SUSSEX 1915 TENTERDEN PAGES REPRODUCED TENTERDEN is a municipal borough, market town, a limb of the Cinque Port and liberty of Rye (Sussex) and the head of a union and country court district and parish, giving its name to the hundred, in the Southern division of the county, lathe of Scray and in the rural deanery of West Charing and archdeaconry of Maidstone, with a station, within two minutes’ walk of the centre of the town, on the Kent and East Sussex Railway, which is connected with the South Eastern and Chatham railway at Robertsbridge and Headcorn. The town is 7 miles west-by-north from Appledore station on the Rye and Hastings branch and 9 south-east from Headcorn station on the main line of the South Eastern and Chatham railway, 18 south-east from Maidstone, 12 south-west from Ashford, 8 south-west from Cranbrook, 10 north-west from Rye and 53 from London. The borough includes part of Stone-cum-Ebony. The town is lighted with gas supplied by a company, established in 1838, and has a good supply of water procured from springs, pipes for the supply of water to the town having been laid down by the Cranbrook Water Co. Tenterden possesses all the privileges of the Cinque Ports and received a charter of incorporation from Henry VI, and a new charter was granted 42 Elizabeth (1599-1600): it is a member of the ancient town of Rye and at the time of its annexation by Henry VI, the sea flowed up to the parish at Small Hythe.
