MA Thesis 1.. A WINDOW INTO THE PHOTOGRAPHERS’ WORLDS Exhibition Design light as subject

LACMA The Darkroom is a multifunctional room within the exhibit, central to the physical space of the photographer’s rooms resnick pavilion 2014 and central to the conceputal theme of light and abstraction. All four photographers worked in a darkroom to create photographs throughout their careers.

However each photographer approaches the process and technique and even physical space in entirely separate and unique ways. As the visitor enters the darkroom during regular museum hours they will find an indepth compilation video featuring interviews and an indepth look at the world in which each photographer creates his photos.

2. DEMONSTRATION DARKROOM The Darkroom will also function as a demonstration space for programs and special events. The darkroom process, while integral to the creation of photographs, varies greatly with each photographer. Programming within the room [with the removal of benches and bringing in of darkroom equipment and teachers] will allow the visitors to experiment or observe how certain photographs were created.

While many of the processes and techniques of the photographs remain only with the photographer, teachers and local photographers will have the opportunity to learn more about each technique and explore new processes with chemicals Corcoran college and equipment never experienced before. of art + design
