The USP uses K-Rays to neutralize Kaiju. Civilian Shin Hayata recently merged with a member of the alien race known as Ultra, who are also dedicated to defeating the Kaiju. Using the Beta Capsule, Shin can now call upon Ultra’s powers for three-minute increments.

When Shin’s friend, USP Cadet Kiki Fuji, was blasted by a K-Ray and disappeared, Shin learned that the K-Rays actually transport the Kaiju to an interdimensional vault. In his Ultraman form, Shin ventured into the vault to rescue Kiki. They managed to make it back to Earth--but in doing so, they also freed the gigantic Kaiju Bemular!
