YLEISTÄ Suomen Ampumaurheiluliiton (SAL) vuoden 2007 toiminta pohjautui SAL:n Puhtaita osumia - strategiasta nouseviin näkemyksiin ja painotuksiin. Liiton perustoimintoja ja – palveluja olivat seurojen elinvoiman ja osaamisen varmistaminen, nuoriso-, harrastus-, valmennus- ja kilpailu- olosuhteiden ja -järjestelmien kehittäminen, sekä lajin koulutus, markkinointi ja viestintä. 1.1. Toiminnan arvopohja Suomen Ampumaurheiluliiton toiminnan arvot olivat: 1. Avoimuus 2. Kestävä kehitys 3. Oikeudenmukaisuus 4. Puhdas urheilu 5. Tasa-arvo 6. Turvallisuus 1.2. Liiton toiminnan tarkoitus Sääntöjen mukaisesti Suomen Ampumaurheiluliiton toiminnan tarkoituksena on edistää ja kehittää ampumaurheilua Suomessa, sekä vaikuttaa että osallistua kansainväliseen ampuma- urheilutoimintaan. Liiton toiminnan perustana ovat eettiset arvot ja urheilun reilun pelin periaatteet. Toiminnassa edistetään sukupuolten välistä tasa-arvoa. Liiton missio on toiminnallaan edistää ja kehittää turvallista radoilla tapahtuvaa ohjattua ampumaurheiluharrastusta. Ampumaurheilun suuri visio on määritelty seuraavasti: ”Ampumaurheilu on kansalaisten laajalti hyväksymä ja arvostama viihtyisillä suorituspaikoilla, kestävän kehityksen ehdoilla toimiva turvallinen ja haastava urheilumuoto.” 1.3. Ampumaurheilun eri lajit Suomen Ampumaurheiluliiton alaisuudessa harrastettiin ISSF:n (Kansainvälinen Ampumaurheiluliitto) kivääri-, pistooli-, haulikko-, riistamaalilajien lisäksi ns. ei-ISSF-lajeja eli compaq-, sporting-, siluetti-, practical-, mustaruuti- ja kasa-ammuntalajeja. Liiton huippu-urheilun ja kansainvälisen kilpailutoiminnan pääpaino oli olympialajeissa. 1.4. Liiton toimialojen visiot vuoteen 2008 Nuorisotoiminta: ”Ampumaurheilun nuorisotoiminta on eettisesti hyväksyttyä ja laadukkaasti ohjattua toimintaa, joka tarjoaa lapsille ja nuorille entistä parempia ja helpommin saavutettavia mahdollisuuksia kokeilla urheiluammuntaa.” Harrastetoiminta: ”Ampumaurheilu on hauskaa ja tuottaa mukana oleville positiivia elämyksiä” Kilpailutoiminta: ” Kilpailutoiminta mahdollistaa urheilijan uran harrastajasta huippu-urheilijaksi. Kilpailujärjestelmä kiinnostaa ja motivoi .” 3 Huippu-urheilu: ”Suomalaiset ampumaurheilijat ovat kansainvälisesti menestyviä huippu-ampujia, joilla on ammattitaitoinen valmentaja. Lajivalmennus ja sen tukitoimet toteutetaan alueellisesti hyvissä harjoittelu- ja rataolosuhteissa.” Koulutustoiminta: ”Seuroissa toimivat osaavat vetäjät ja johtajat.” Viestintätoiminta: ”Suomalaisilla on myönteinen mielikuva ampumaurheilusta.” Olosuhteet: ” Puhtaita osumia viihtyisällä ampumaradalla.” . Seuratoiminta: ”Seurat tarjoavat jäsenilleen ja eri kohderyhmille suunnattua säännöllistä, ihmisten tarpeet huomioivaa ohjattua ja monipuolista toimintaa.” 1.5. Painopisteet ja keskeisimmät tulokset vuonna 2007 Seura- ja järjestötoiminta Seurojen ja alueiden avaintoimijaverkoston vahvistaminen Seuratoimintanäkemyksen kirkastaminen Keskeisimmät tulokset: - Aluetoiminnan toimintamallia selkeytettiin - Kohdattiin 42 seuraa ja 140 seuratoimijaa - Seuratoiminnan kehittämisessä keskityttiin nuorten toimintaedellytysten vahvistamiseen Nuoriso- ja harrastetoiminta Nuorisotoiminnan avaintoimijaverkoston vahvistaminen I-tason koulutuksen kehittäminen Seurakoulutuksen järjestäminen Keskeisimmät tulokset: - Avaintoimijaverkosto kokoontui kahdesti; mukana on 35 henkeä. - Aloitettiin I-tason valmentajakoulutuksen kehittäminen. Ohjaajakoulutuksen sisältöä ja toimintamallia uudistettiin. Perustekniikan oppaat pistooli- ja kivääriammuntaan valmistuivat. - Seurajohtajakoulutus järjestettiin yhteistyössä Suomen Urheiluopiston Johtoinstituutin kanssa; mukana 5 seuraa. Alue- ja seurakehittämisen foorumeina toimivat myös nuorisotoiminnan avaintoimijapäivät huhtikuussa ja syyskuussa sekä ns. lajiparlamentti marraskuussa. Niissä kohdattiin kaikkiaan 300 seuratoimijaa, valmentajaa ja urheilijaa. Kansallinen kilpailutoiminta Kilpailujärjestelmän kehittäminen Keskeisimmät tulokset: - Kilpailujärjestelmän kehittäminen käynnistettiin ja sitä jatketaan vuonna 2008 4 Huippu-urheilu ja valmennus Huippuampujatie-ohjelman jatkaminen Tulosperusteisen valmennusjärjestelmän kehittäminen Valmentajakoulutuksen uudistaminen Kansainvälinen menestys: olympiapaikat Keskeisimmät tulokset: - Käynnistettiin tulosperusteisen valmennus- ja valintajärjestelmän kehittäminen - Käynnistettiin valmennusorganisaation uudistaminen - Käynnistettiin valmentajakoulutuksen uudistaminen yhteistyössä Suomen Urheiluopiston kanssa - Maapaikkoja Pekingin Olympialaisiin yhteensä 8 kpl ja Paralympialaisiin 4 kpl - MM/EM-mitaleja ISSF- lajeissa yhteensä 8 kpl Ympäristö- ja olosuhteet Ampumarataluokituksen jatkaminen Osaamisen vahvistaminen Ympäristökoulutus ja ympäristökatselmukset Valmennuskeskus Vierumäelle Keskeisimmät tulokset: - 11 ampumaradan pilottiluokitus saatettiin loppuun - Luokitusmateriaali viimeisteltiin - Tehtiin 3 radalla ympäristökatselmus - Suomen Urheiluopisto aloitti Vierumäen ampumakeskuksen rakentamisen Viestintä Viestintäverkoston luominen Viestintäpalvelut medioille Keskeisimmät tulokset: - Urheiluampuja-lehden ulkoasu ja osin sisältöä uudistettiin - Ampumaurheilunetin yllöpitotyökalun ja sen myötä Ampumaurheilunetin toiminta ja ulkoasua uudistettiin - lähettiin 293 tiedotetta medialle 2. HALLINTO 2.1. Liittovaltuusto Liittovaltuusto kokoontui vuoden aikana kaksi kertaa: kokous 1/2007 21.4.2007 (valtuutettuja kokouksessa 23) ja kokous 2/2007 1.12.2007 (valtuutettuja kokouksessa 26). Puheenjohtajana oli molemmissa kokouksissa Mikko Nordquist ja sihteerinä Risto Aarrekivi. Liittovaltuustoon kuului 22 SAL:n alueiden edustajaa, 5 jäsenliittojen edustajaa, 3 lisäjäsentä. Jäseniä valtuustossa oli yhteensä 30.     A History of the United States National Outdoor Smallbore Rifle Championships 1919-2013 By Hap Rocketto August 25, 2013 i Acknowledgement This history is an attempt to capture the events and personalities that make the National Rifle Association’s National Outdoor Smallbore Rifle Championship such a powerful and interesting story. Covering the years 1919 through 2002 was done under the auspices of the NRA’s publications division, as source material for The National Matches: 1903-2003 The First 100 Years. The reports of the years 2003-2010 were written for, and published by, Precision Shooting Magazine until that publication’s demise and thereafter they were specifically written for this history. This is not a formal history in the sense that bibliography is not appended nor are sources cited. However, much of this story was collected from the rich store of information archived in the written reports found in the shooting journals Arms and the Man, The American Rifleman, Tournament News, Shooting Sports USA, and Precision Shooting Magazine as well as the programs and bulletins of The National Matches and NRA Shooting Trophies. Though the events have changed over the years, the spirit of the Games remains.     1 A BIO-BIBLIOGRAPHY OF ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL HISTORY D.A. FARNIE and GEOFFREY TWEEDALE 5th Edition 2009 2 Preface to Fifth Edition This is the fifth edition of A Bio-Bibliography of Economic and Social History. Its originator and chief author, Douglas Farnie, sadly did not live to see its completion and publication. He died in Manchester on 21 June 2008, aged 82, following complications from heart surgery. The first edition of Douglas‟s Bio-Bibliography was published in Pat Hudson (ed.), Living Economic and Social History. Essays to Mark the 75th Anniversary of the Economic History Society (2001). It listed about 700 individuals. Characteristically, Douglas had been expanding and revising it ever since. It went through further editions, each more expansive than the last. This edition covers over 3,500 individuals. My involvement began casually in 2001, when I began passing Douglas obituaries and snippets of information for inclusion. The amount of information gathered pace as I began using electronic sources to fill gaps and to supplement the material that Douglas was still collecting from libraries and paper sources. Douglas never used a computer (or even a typewriter) and always preferred to use a pen. However, the world-wide-web fascinated Douglas and when it became apparent that it could transform the scope of the Bio-Bibliography, we began to collaborate on producing a much expanded fifth edition. A routine developed. From early 2007 until 27 March 2008, we met once a week at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School not only to revise the electronic copy of the Bio- Bibliography, but also to scour the web for new material.
