In both Stage 1 and 2 Audit, the assessment was comprehensively conducted at both its Main Office (documentations) and Plantation site/Office (compliance & implementation). • In both Audit Stages, dialogues and interviews were conducted with stakeholders to gauge understanding of MSPO principles, applications & its importance and relevance to sustainable growth and production of palm oil products. Also assessed were their opinion & working relationship with SOPE Management and this was found to be positive. Local communities were also allowed access and use of roads within the Plantation. • Beetuah & SOPE Management are conversant with requirements & application of MSPO2530- 3:2013. The Managing Director & Executive Director of Beetuah have attended and successfully completed the MSPO Lead Auditor Course. The Estate Manager & staff have also attended various training/workshop on MSPO. • Plantation workers (including foreign workers) are remunerated well above minimum wage; and living conditions in the Estate meet all requirements of health & safety regulations. • Plantation land acquisitions & status are all legally & properly documented in accordance with existing laws and regulations. • The Plantation infrastructure, drainage and road systems are well planned, organized and maintained. This ensures better efficiency & safety for workers on harvesting and transporting FFB. • The Plantation management practices the Policy of giving employment opportunities to the local communities who are mainly engaged as plantation staffs and loose fruit pickers. • There were no major findings & non-conformance (NC) during the assessment. SOPE responded promptly and corrective actions were taken within the time frame given • SOPE, a wholly owned entity of Beetuah Agroventures Sdn Bhd has complied & conformed to Certification standards, conditions & requirements. Conclusively, the Lead Auditor therefore recommended that Stungkor Oil Palm Estate (SOPE) be certified under MSPO Standards MS2530-3:2013.
