Safety Footwork I carry my epee tip-down Ready/Rest I wear an under-arm protector and Guard position knickers (with long socks) for sparring Advance I put my mask on with one hand Retreat I always wear my mask when facing another fencer Half-advance Half-retreat Knowledge Advance-lunge I know all the parts of an electrical epee Pattinando (tempo change) I know the Four Lines of Defense/ Check (from advance or retreat) I know the dimensions of the strip I know the ground rules (ie: what happens Offense when someone steps off the side) Direct to body with lunge I know how to fill out a pool sheet Direct to toe with lunge I know what a tempo is and the difference Change-glide in 6 to body with lunge between simple and compound actions Glide in 8 (or 2) to hip with lunge I can draw the short tactical wheel Beat-4, direct to bicep with lunge I know the 1-tempo distance event triggers Beat-4, change-glide (in 6) to bicep with lunge Honor, Chivalry, & Respect to hand, disengage to bicep with I always salute the other fencer (from the lunge guard line with mask off) at the beginning Feint to hand, change to toe with lunge and end of a fencing session I always shake hands with and thank the Counter-offense other fencer at the end of a session Stop-hit to top of forearm I fence with anyone who asks Stop-hit to underside of forearm I do not use otherʼs equipment without Stop-hit to shoulder against toe shot asking Derobement with disengage to shoulder I treat SCF equipment with care and with lunge respect Derobement with counter-disengage to shoulder with lunge
