Hello rising sixth graders!

It is time for summer reading! We are asking you to read at least five books this summer. We have attached the book log and suggested book titles if you need some ideas, but you are not limited to this reading list. Sixth Graders: Please look to the book log below for a required assignment when you return in August.

In addition, we have a list of books that we DO NOT want you to read this summer because we will be reading the titles throughout the school year.

Please DO NOT read the following books:

Directions: Please read at least five books this summer and record them below as you read. Bring this book log to your language arts class on the first day of school. Sixth Grade Only: Before you return to school in August, please complete a reading of From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg. We will complete a variety of activities related to this book in the first few days of school. You can secure a copy of the book at your local library, download it on your iPad for free on the Overdrive app (with a library card), or purchase it.
