Getting there
Off the coast of Victoria, Phillip Island offers an idyllic island getaway that’s easily accessible by car. Just a 90 minute drive south east of Melbourne, this charming spot makes a perfect day trip or weekend minibreak.
To get there, drive south along the Monash Freeway and take the South Gippsland Highway before exiting onto the Bass Highway and continuing through San Remo. Then, drive across the connecting bridge to where your island oasis awaits.
All the main attractions are located within a 10 to 15 minute drive of each other so you’ll be able to navigate easily between scenic hot spots and holiday amusements.

For motoring enthusiasts, the original Australian Grand Prix track is a must-do. The circuit has been redeveloped over the years and now hosts world-class racing events including the MotoGP, World Championship Superbikes, V8 Supercars and more. Buckle up for some family-friendly Go Karting, take a guided tour or zip around the track with an experienced driver in a GT3 Porsche.
On warm days you can hit Phillip Island’s pristine beaches and try your hand at surfing or kayaking, while in the winter you can enjoy the water aboard a fishing charter, aqua bike or wildlife watching tour boat. Visitors can even hire or BYO boat and set sail from one of the many boat ramps designed to accommodate varying tides and vessel types.
Prefer keeping dry? Tee off on the picturesque greens of the Phillip Island Golf Club or hit the road on a genuine Harley Davidson Munster Trike.
