  • Mouser Congratulates Ho-Pin Tung on Historic Win at Le Mans
US Headquarters 1000 N. Main Street, Mansfield, TX 76063, USA (817) 804-3800 Main www.mouser.com For Immediate Release Mouser Congratulates Ho-Pin Tung on Historic Win at Le Mans June 26, 2017 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, congratulates Ho-Pin Tung, who became the first Chinese driver to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Tung, driving the No. 38 car for the Jackie Chan DC race team, placed second overall and first in the LMP2 class at the 85th running of Le Mans earlier this month. Mouser has been a strong supporter of Tung since 2011 as he challenged himself to cross over in various motorsports, including the IndyCar Series and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. The global distributor is once again participating in the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship season. Racing is all about speed and endurance, and racing sponsorships are an innovative way for Mouser to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies from its manufacturer partners. The famed 24 Hours of Le Mans, which took place on June 17–18 in Le Mans, France, is the world’s oldest active car endurance race. It was a historic day for actor and stuntman Jackie Chan, who saw both cars in his racing team take the podium. The Jackie Chan DC No. 38 car, piloted by Tung, Oliver Jarvis and 19-year-old Thomas Laurent, wrote a new page in the motorsport history books as first Chinese team to win at Le Mans.

  • 1966 Lotus Cortina Classic Rally Car PRICE £60,000
1966 Lotus Cortina Classic Rally Car PRICE £60,000 ABOUT THIS CAR IDEAL FOR USE ON: Monte Carlo Historique, Le Jog, Rally of the Tests, Classic Marathon, The Scottish Malts, Lombard Rally Bath, Rally Round Africa Rally Preparation Services is pleased to offer this absolutely superb LHD 1966 Lotus Cortina resplendent in Ermine White and the signature Sherwood Green stripe. Most petrol heads know the tales of Jim Clark’s exploits in the glorious Lotus Cortina but why did Ford treat us to this legend. Research Ford cars in the early ‘60s and you will soon find that Ford had a worthy but dull model range. The exciting new Cortina was coming soon though but even that had old fashioned mechanicals. There is however an adage in the motor industry, first attributed to Harvey Firestone (as in Firestone tyres) “Win on Sunday – sell on Monday”. The Ford management in Dearborn remembered the phrase and charged Walter Hayes from within their own PR team to develop a motorsport program in the UK. Walter called Colin Chapman at Lotus; it was the obvious thing to do. Lotus had already developed the Twin-Cam derivative of the Ford Kent engine for the Lotus Elite mated to a Ford gearbox. It would all easily fit into the new Cortina, so it wasn’t long before the “Consul Cortina developed by Lotus” was in production. Ford soon abandoned the Consul moniker but always referred to the car as the Cortina Lotus. In fact, trimmed body shells were dispatched from Dagenham to the tiny Lotus factory where final assembly took place and not surprisingly, we all know the car as the Lotus Cortina.

15/11/11 Design Analsis of the Lotus Seven S4 (Tpe 60) Conneions You are here: Home » Content » Design Analysis of the Lotus Seven S4 (Type 60) Design Analsis of the Lotus Seven S4 (Tpe 60) Module b: Andrew R. Barron. The design target of the Lotus Seven S4 (Type 60) was to aimed at meeting several requirements: Lower cost of production, in particular the chassis and the hand beaten aluminum panels. Reduce the time of manufacture from the 12 hours for the Series 3. Find a market to a wider owner base with improved driver comfort and weather protection. Compete with sports cars from major manufacturers, such as MG Midget and Triumph Spitfire Provide a first step on the ladder of Lotus ownership. Take advantage of the 1970s “beach buggy” craze. The success of the design of the Seven S4, and the choice of various components, should be considered with regard to these goals. As such the S4 was a rather clever piece of design that largely overcame the cost problems of the Seven S3. Chassis and bod Although the Peter Lucas designed chassis of the Type 60 Seven S4 is basically a tubular frame design, it is significantly simplified as compared to the proceeding Seven models. Using steel square upper and lower side tubes with triangulation and cross members with square steel tubes, the main chassis was simple in design (Figure 1 (#id3640890) ). A rear frame was made from round tubular steel. The upper rear chassis doubled as the attachment point for the fuel tank, the seat belts, and the body to the chassis.

The Chapman Report Published by the Golden Gate Lotus Club www.gglotus.org September 2006 Monterey And Pebble editor August is the Big month for classic car afficianados. I got to a few of the events, Monterey Historics on Satur- day, and the Pebble Beach Concours on Sunday. I missed the Concorso Italiano, the auctions and the rest. I should have ‘put the arm’ on members that attended other events to get their photos and stories. I could have gone to the auctions, but my wife and daughter ganged-up on me; ‘no more cars’. I tried to explain to my wife that she should look at the Jaguar XK140 drophead as an IRA, that will improve in value. Didn’t work. The All British Car Meet is upon us and I will miss that too; delivering daughter’s houshold stuff to Eugene (U of Oregon fall quarter). So I’m hoping that someone will take photos and write The People’s Choice Award was presented to this 1936 Delahaye 135 Figoni & Falaschi a short story for this newsletter, Please. Hugues de Chaunac’s Editorial The upcoming 88th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to be held in September and behind closed doors this year, is shaping up to be a special one for ORECA. Our teams and I are particularly proud to see 20 ORECA 07 chassis entered in the LMP2 class. This record makes us the most represented constructor on the starting grid of the most iconic endurance race in the world! Two Rebellion R-13 are expected in LMP1 as well. The Rebellion Racing team’s stunning victory and double podium finish at the first-ever 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual has inspired us to raise the bar even higher for the actual race. Since 2012, we have made available to TOYOTA GAZOO Racing the breadth of our experience and client services through operational support, and our mechanics and engineers.
