It’s a haven for wildlife and would also be a wonderful place in which to raise a family, while the detached garage with self-contained studio is a fabulous home office or guest accommodation and could even be used as a holiday let. The vibrant community here will welcome you in: Tasburgh offers something for everyone. Enjoy rural village life without wandering too far from the city – the best of both worlds! A Home With Heart Dating back to the early 18th century, the cottage has heaps of character. There are many exposed beams, some open studwork and a glorious inglenook fireplace. The cottage has been extended over the years (the kitchen is Victorian and the sitting room a more modern addition), with works done sympathetically, so while each part of the property has its own character, it all complements the original. You have lovely views from every window, looking out over fields to the front and down the garden to the rear. The garage is fully fitted out with storage and workspace, so it’s ideal for any DIY, car or bike enthusiasts, while over it you’ll find a wonderful bright and welcoming studio with kitchenette and shower room. You could use this to work from home, for guests, adult children or older teens, or even let it out for holidays, subject to the appropriate permissions. Wonder At The Wildlife The gardens here are lovely and secluded, with plenty of mature planting and several seating areas dotted about to make the most of the sun throughout the day. The owner loves seeing the variety of wildlife, taking her morning coffee out to listen to the birdsong at the start of the day. There are buzzards nesting, pheasants passing by and muntjac drawn to the riverside setting. Geese congregate on the lakes across the river before migration each year and the owner enjoys seeing them flying over as they set off on their journey. There’s no light pollution, so the sunrises and sunsets are magnificent, as are the clear night skies. Sitting out here you feel as though it’s a real oasis, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. An Enviable Setting The cottage sits in the Tas Valley, with beautiful countryside all around and many interesting walks and places to explore, right on the doorstep. Tasburgh is an historic village with an iron age hillfort and a lovely Saxon church with round flint tower. There’s a village hall that hosts a variety of groups for all ages and plenty of regular events, so it’s easy to put down roots here. There’s also a community pub, cricket club, fishing lakes and so much more, as well as a highly regarded primary school, pre-school and playgroup. Just up the road in Long Stratton you’ll find all the shops and facilities you need, including a library and doctor’s surgery, while nearby Wymondham, Norwich and Diss are all within easy reach. All three have train stations for onward travel to London or Cambridge, so you may be in the heart of the country here but you’re certainly not isolated! The Accommodation You take in the wonderful front elevation of the property before moving through a rear door into the… Breakfast Kitchen A fantastic amount of space in here, you notice a breakfast bar to your left along with the brick tiles underfoot. Additional cabinets can be found to three aspects contrasting beautifully with the darker work surfaces. There are a number of integrated appliances including a double electric oven, an induction hob with extractor fan above, a dishwasher, larder fridge and twin stainless steel sink units., A number of Idigbo hardwood windows, recently introduced, offer both light and wonderful views over the rear garden. From the kitchen steps lead up to the… Dining Room The dining room is south facing and is dominated by its exposed beams overhead, the vertical studwork and the impressive fireplace with wood burner set within. Tucked away to the corner of the room you have the original staircase which leads to the first floor. Due to the vertical studwork, this impressive space is divided into two, with the current owner utilising the second space as a small seating area. This is also where the stairs rise to the first floor. To the corner of this room, a door takes you through into an inner lobby which leads to the… Study A versatile space it could be used for a number of different purposes. Once again it is dominated by the impressive fireplace, with further exposed beams found overhead. Windows offer a double aspect with pretty views down the lane, whilst there is also a door to the front elevation. From the study, you move through to the rear of the home into an inner hallway. You also have access to this little hallway from the kitchen, where you discover the combined ground floor WC and shower room. You have a continuation of the brick tiles underfoot, where you shortly arrive at a side reception hall. From this side reception hall, you have access into the utility room as well as the… Potential Annexe Alternatively, you could incorporate this space into the main residence. A door offers its own independent access, before moving through into the… Sitting Room Forming part of a two-storey extension, the sitting room is generous in its nature with further Idigbo hardwood windows and French doors affording light and access out to the gardens. The room itself is set around another impressive fireplace with a wood burner set within. From the sitting room, stairs lead up to the first floor, where you discover a generous bedroom that could form part of the self contained annexe if required. Bedroom With some of the best views from the house out over the gardens and surrounding area via a large gable end window. The room also incorporates built in wardrobes, whilst you also discover an en-suite shower room complete with heated towel rail and vanity storage. Returning to the main cottage, you move up the stairs to the first floor, where you discover… Three Further Bedrooms The largest of which being the master bedroom. It has part vaulted ceilings, a chimney breast and double aspect windows. These bedrooms are serviced by the main bathroom which is accessed off the landing. Main Bathroom This newly renovated bathroom suite includes a bath with overhead shower attachment and glass screen along with a WC and wash basin which are set within an Idigbo hardwood vanity unit. The first floors character is similar to the ground floor with numerous exposed beams found within all the rooms, whilst the south facing nature of the cottage ensures plenty of natural light throughout. Self Contained Studio Built by the current owners, the double garage with impressive self-contained studio above, is a versatile space that could be used for a number of different purposes. The studio is approached by an external undercover staircase. You move through to the main part of the studio with its windows offering plenty of light as well as views out over the gardens. You discover a deep storage cupboard, a small kitchenette area to one wall and eaves storage, whilst you also notice the wonderful timber flooring underfoot. The door to the corner of the room offers access through into the en-suite shower room. This studio is perfect to be run as a holiday cottage/Air BnB. The Gardens Situated on a quiet country lane, the pretty cottage has been re-thatched in the last 15 years and is accessed on its western side by a shingle drive, where you note the original well to the property. The drive leads directly to a detached double garage, which offers a self-contained studio above, ideal for use as a holiday cottage, guest accommodation or as a home office. There is also additional off-street parking for several vehicles. Just off the drive is an expansive terrace with direct access into the breakfast kitchen and the annexe. Beyond the terrace, lawns lead down to the River Tas, interspersed by deep garden beds and a range of timber outbuildings including an impressive barn found to the bottom of the garden. To the rear boundary you have access to the river. In all, the mature setting extends to 0.67 acres (stms) and includes a number of trees including silver birch and cherry.

For this reason, Landmark's Site Sensitivity maps and Datasheet(s) place great emphasis on statutory data provided by the Environment Agency/Natural Resources Wales and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency; it also incorporates data from Natural England (and the Scottish and Welsh equivalents) and Local Authorities; and highlights hydrogeological features required by environmental and geotechnical consultants. It does not include any information concerning past uses of land. The datasheet is produced by querying the Landmark database to a distance defined by the client from a site boundary provided by the client. In this datasheet the National Grid References (NGRs) are rounded to the nearest 10m in accordance with Landmark's agreements with a number of Data Suppliers.

  • Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office
Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office This list summarises the Norfolk Record Office’s (NRO’s) holdings of parish (Church of England) registers and of transcripts and other copies of them. Parish Registers The NRO holds registers of baptisms, marriages, burials and banns of marriage for most parishes in the Diocese of Norwich (including Suffolk parishes in and near Lowestoft in the deanery of Lothingland) and part of the Diocese of Ely in south-west Norfolk (parishes in the deanery of Fincham and Feltwell). Some Norfolk parish records remain in the churches, especially more recent registers, which may be still in use. In the extreme west of the county, records for parishes in the deanery of Wisbech Lynn Marshland are deposited in the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, whilst Welney parish records are at the Cambridgeshire Record Office. The covering dates of registers in the following list do not conceal any gaps of more than ten years; for the populous urban parishes (such as Great Yarmouth) smaller gaps are indicated. Whenever microfiche or microfilm copies are available they must be used in place of the original registers, some of which are unfit for production. A few parish registers have been digitally photographed and the images are available on computers in the NRO's searchroom. The digital images were produced as a result of partnership projects with other groups and organizations, so we are not able to supply copies of whole registers (either as hard copies or on CD or in any other digital format), although in most cases we have permission to provide printout copies of individual entries.
