The surviving estate wall and policy trees that form the Bonnyfield Strip and the southern part of Davidson’s Mains Park make a major contribution to views on the west approach to Edinburgh along Queensferry Road.

Recommendations 1.1. It is recommended that the Committee: 1.1.1 notes the results of the Council’s initial 20mph monitoring programme, as detailed in the report; 1.1.2 notes the independent evaluation of the impacts of 20mph speed limits in Edinburgh undertaken by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) project team; 1.1.3 approves commencing the statutory process to add the additional streets, as detailed in table 3 of the report, to the 20mph network; 1.1.4 approves the strategy for further actions the Council may wish to consider in streets where there may be continuing non-compliance with the new limits as set out in the report; 1.1.5 notes that consideration is being given to the potential for further extension of the 20mph network and that a report on this subject will be brought to first meeting of this Committee in 2020; and 1.1.6 notes that a further report on the analysis of road casualties will be presented to this Committee in 2021, three years after completion of the final phase of the 20mph network. These are: Preventing Crime and Disorder Securing Public Safety Preventing Public Nuisance Protecting and Improving Public Health Protecting Children from Harm In Edinburgh the Licensing Board has identified the Grassmarket, Cowgate and streets leading to it as a long established area of overprovision. In November 2011 Jim Sherval, Public Health Specialist in NHS Lothiani, completed an assessment of overprovision provision on behalf of the Board.

    Boardmaker in Libraries Drop-in sessions in Drumbrae Library Boardmaker is a computer programme which is used to make visual symbol supports. It is now available in 6 libraries in Edinburgh (Craigmillar, Central, Drumbrae, Gilmerton, Leith and Wester Hailes). Parents and carers of children and family members of adults with additional support needs can use the resource independently during library opening hours. Boardmaker Drop-in sessions will also be offered for parents and carers who wish to: have support to use Boardmaker look at examples of visual support resources (e.g. timetables, choice boards) make their own visual supports using Boardmaker discuss the way they are using or adapting symbols at home meet other families Who are the Boardmaker Drop-in’s for? These drop-in sessions are for parents or carers of children or family members of adults with additional support needs. These sessions are designed to support the use of the Boardmaker software to create visuals for the use at home. There are no crèche facilities. These sessions are not suitable for professional carers working with individuals with additional support needs. When are the Boardmaker Drop-ins? Drumbrae Daytime Sessions Evening Sessions 2017 10-11.30am 6.30- 8:00pm June 8th July 26th August 10th September 27th October 12th November 22nd December 14th Who runs the Drop-ins?     Blackhall Primary School Handbook Session 2018-19 0 A Foreword from the Director of Children and Families Session 2018-19 Dear Parents This brochure contains a range of information about your child’s school which will be of interest to you and your child. It offers an insight into the life and ethos of the school and also offers advice and assistance which you may find helpful in supporting and getting involved in your child’s education. We are committed to working closely with parents as equal partners in your child's education, in the life of your child's school and in city-wide developments in education. Parental involvement in the decision making process and in performance monitoring are an integral part of school life. We look forward to developing that partnership with your support. I am pleased to introduce this brochure for session 2018-19 and hope that it will provide you with the information you need concerning your child’s school.
