Consolidation in Grupo Antolin

The Data Centres have become a clear objective for the reduction of costs, because between 10-20 % of the total of the energy consumption is produced by the DC.

Consolidation lies in the centralization and reduction of remote servers and/or services located in distributed settings. The data process centres, distributed in our plants, have the MINIMUM NECESSARY infrastructure for the corporative IT servic - es at present. The general policy of IT in Grupo Antolin is that all the applications which are subject to be working in a centralised environment, are implanted that way. We have SAP as an example.

We are aware that our group must make its little part, collaborating with our customers, the car manufactur - ers, to fulfil their commitments. Therefore, in recent

years, in order to reduce CO 2 emissions and minimize the consumption of energy from fossil fuels, we are de - veloping numerous products based on two premises: Light & Green. We thus commit ourselves with the envi - ronment, collaborate with the makers in the reduction of

CO 2 emissions and generate products technologically sustainable. The use of materials of natural origin (bio resins, bio plas -

For example: 100 kg of a bio plastic as the ob - tained directly from starch or the PLA (polylactic acid), obtained from starch sugar have a “Zero Footprint ". Plastic materials reinforced with vegetal fibres (sisal) for the process of moulding by injection

We want to bring a new approach for plastic parts to the results obtained with the project “MatFiVe”, funded through the line “IBEROEKA” of the Spanish Ministry of Industry, which gave rise to a product that was called “Agro-PP” (agro-polypropylene). Due to the high temperatures of the process of injec - tion, in addition to the protective treatment of the fi - bres, other aspects must be studied, such as the choice of the most appropriate type of plastic, the modifica - tion of the parameters of the process of injection and even the modification of the injection tooling, all of this on the purpose that the temperature reached by the composite is lower than that of the normal process and the fibres do not suffer a degradation, which generates a “toasted” look and an inadmissible smell. Therefore, this project, which aim is that the material re - inforced with vegetable fibres complies with the strict rules of smell and the emission of volatiles for parts of the interior of automobiles, can generate another im - portant product in the line "Light & Green".
