Abstract 1 The Asian chestnut gall wasp Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yasumatsu (Hymenoptera Cynipidae) is an invasive species in chestnut forests and orchards in many parts of the world. 2 Nuts produced by the European chestnut (Castanea sativa Miller) are important in human food and culture, and as a component in food webs in forest ecosystems. 3 Severe infestations are reported to reduce nut yield, although precise data are lacking because of large natural year-to-year variability in yield. 4 The recent colonization of chestnut orchards in north-eastern Italy, where nut yield has been continuously and precisely recorded for several years, offered an opportunity to calculate the impact of gall wasp infestation level on yield. 5 The nut yield of C. sativa chestnut trees was negatively related to the gall wasp infestation level, with losses as high as 80% being reported when the number of current-year galls was above six galls per 50-cm twig. 6 Yield losses can be explained by direct and indirect factors related to gall formation, and a fuller understanding of the mechanisms involved could identify possible mitigation measures.

Nel nuovo consiglio di amministrazione dellautility di Pieve di Soligo, nel quale è stato confermato alla presidenza l' uscente Nicola Cecconato, entra, dunque, quale esponente di minoranza, Cristian Novello. Per altro la lista di minoranza ha preso ben più del 9%, aggiudicandosi il 17,5% e aprendo la possibilità che ad appoggiarla sia stato sia A2a (4,1%), che Hera, con il suo 2,5%, che i bergamaschi di Anita, con il 3,5%. Avvocato trevigiano, Novello era stato iscritto in testa all' elenco in cui il nome di Edoardo Gaffeo, sindaco di Rovigo e dunque del socio più pesante fra quelli del patto di sindacato, compariva solo al secondo posto.

Here ancient terraced vineyards clinging to the sides of every possible slope are dedicated exclusively to grapes for Italy’s most prized sparkling wine: Prosecco. Based in an elegant hotel, located in the heart of the so called 'Prosecco Road' - Italy’s oldest wine route - we spend a week walking through picturesque rolling hills and sampling the area’s delicious cuisine and authentic bubbles. We also visit charming medieval villages such as Cison, Follina, Asolo as well as the beautiful capital province of Treviso. Day 1 Fly from London Gatwick to Venice at lunchtime with British Airways. On arrival at the airport you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Our trip starts in Pieve di Soligo, a small village located in the heart of the Prosecco hills, approximately 60km north of Venice. The surrounding area is picturesque, with lush vineyards covering the slopes of every possible hill and old churches, abbeys, villas and ancient castles dotting the landscape. Prosecco has been produced here for centuries, but only more recently, thanks to the surge in its popularity worldwide, has the area captured the deserved spotlight. Nevertheless, still relatively few tourists visit this wine region each year, making it an ideal location for our week of walking, wine tasting and cultural discovery in a still very authentic rural part of Italy.
