Ha giocato a Milano un anno vincendo Coppa Italia e scudetto 2016. Ebbe un ruolo minore nei playoffs perché il turnover degli stranieri costrinse Coach Jasmin Repesa a fare scelte e alla fine lui rimase penalizzato. Jenkins era arrivato dalla Stella Rossa Belgrado con la reputazione di giocatore a due dimensioni ovvero difensore strepitoso e attaccante ordinato ma capace di grandi esplosioni. Dopo Milano, è tornato a Belgrado per avere un'altra grande stagione di EuroLeague alla Stella Rossa e guadagnarsi questa opportunità al Khimki dove gioca per il secondo anno consecutivo. LA KHIMKI-MILANO CONNECTION Mindaugas Kuzminskas e Nemanja Nedovic giocavano a Malaga nella stagione 2015/16 e avevano tra i loro compagni di squadra Stefan Markovic che è alla seconda stagione al Khimki. Kuzminskas e Markovic erano assieme a Malaga anche nella stagione precedente. Curtis Jerrells e Petr Gubanov hanno giocato assieme a Kazan nella stagione 2014/15. Nedovic e Markovic hanno vinto la medaglia d’argento olimpica a Rio 2016 con la Serbia. James Nunnally ha stabilito il proprio record di valutazione (27) proprio contro il Khimki nel novembre 2017 quand’era al Fenerbahce. KHIMKI-MILANO: I PRECEDENTI Ci sono cinque precedenti tra queste due squadre e finora il bilancio è favorevole al Khimki 3-2 che è 2-1 al Mediolanum Forum ma 1-1 a Mosca. Nella stagione 2009/10, il Khimki vinse 72-68 a Milano con 17 punti di Keith Langford (l’Olimpia ne ebbe 19 da Morris Finley); nel ritorno a Mosca, il Khimki vinse 78-63 con 18 punti sempre di Langford. Nell’Olimpia il migliore fu Mason Rocca con 17 punti e sette rimbalzi. L’anno scorso nella gara di andata, il Khimki vinse 77-71 con Alexey Shved a quota 29 punti. Nell’Olimpia ne ebbe 17 Curtis Jerrells. L’Olimpia si prese la rivincita a Mosca nel girone di ritorno imponendosi 86-77 con 26 punti di Andrew Goudelock, 15 di Mindaugas Kuzminskas e 14 di Jerrells (nel Khimki il solito Shved ne segnò 24). Nella partita di andata di questa stagione, l’Olimpia ha vinto 81-80: risolutivi tre tiri liberi a segno di Mike James. KHIMKI MOSCA: LA STORIA Il Khimki Mosca è stato fondato solo nel 1997 ma ha impiegato appena sei anni per arrivare al basket di vertice e poi debuttare nelle coppe europee. Quella attuale è la sesta partecipazione all’EuroLeague. Nell’ultimo decennio, con qualche sporadica eccezione, il Khimki è stato nei fatti la seconda squadra russa dopo il CSKA con una Coppa di Russia (2008) e due vittorie in Eurocup, la prima nel 2012 (battuta in finale Valencia) e la seconda nel 2015 contro Gran Canaria. Lo scorso anno ha raggiunto i playoff di EuroLeague perdendo il derby contro il CSKA. Il coach è Rimas Kurtinaitis (59 anni), lituano, ex grande giocatore della Nazionale prima sovietica (oro alle Olimpiadi di Seul 1988) e poi lituana. Da allenatore, Kurtinaitis ha vinto l’Eurocup due volte proprio con il Khimki e una volta la VTB League. NOTE KHIMKI – Dee Bost è l’unico giocatore del Khimki che sia partito in quintetto sempre in questa stagione. Alexey Shved ha giocato solo otto gare ma rientra in questa circostanza: ha segnato almeno 13 punti in 42 gare consecutive, ha messo una tripla in 28 e distribuito almeno quattro assist in 18 partite di fila. Jordan Mickey è andato in doppia cifra in 16 delle ultime 17 gare. Tony Crocker ha una striscia aperta di 13 tiri liberi a segno ed è quinto assoluto con il 91.9%. Anthony Gill ha chiuso anzitempo la stagione per infortunio. 111: NUOVO RECORD DI CLUB IN EUROLEAGUE L'Olimpia ha prodotto contro il Buducnost la settima prova "Over 100" nella storia moderna dell'EuroLeague (dal 2000 in avanti) e soprattutto il nuovo record di società di punti segnati in una singola gara con 111. Il vecchio primato risaliva al 10 novembre 2016 quando sconfisse 105-92 l'Efes. Ironicamente l'allenatore di quell'Olimpia era Jasmin Repesa che adesso guida il Buducnost.
