General Meeting Minutes November 17th, 2020 Via Zoom 11:30 – 1:00 pm

1. Call to Order: Mark Dickin called the meeting to order at 11:30am.

2. Approval of Agenda: MOVED by Neil Shewchuk to approve the agenda as presented.

CARRIED.

3. Adoption of Previous Meeting Minutes – October 14, 2020: MOVED by Trevor Fillo that the October 14 minutes be adopted as presented.

CARRIED.

4. President’s Report: Mark Dickin recapped the presidents report as per attachment.

5. 2021 Budget Approval: Mark Dickin presented the draft 2021 budget to the membership. MOVED by James Cloutier that the 2021 budget be approved as presented.

CARRIED.

6. Community Updates 7.1 Town of Whitecourt: Mayor Chichak presented an update on behalf of the Town of Whitecourt including the passing of the Mandatory Mask Bylaw, seeking public members for various committees, 109 permits issued to end of October which is similar to 2019, Travel Alberta cooperative tourism grant for #SkiNorthAB and #ABWaysToWinter campaign in partnership with other regions, website updates and business supports are updated, regional electric charging stations being planned with RFP upcoming.

7.2 Woodlands County: n/a

7.3 Town of Mayerthorpe: John Andersen was welcomed as the Economic Development Officer for Mayerthorpe.

7.4 Business Support Network: Kristy Tuts provided an update on behalf of the Business Support Network including upcoming Whitecourt BSN on November 18, a November 24 regional BSN meeting to discuss COVID related supports and mental health challenges, and December 10th regional mixer including Doug Griffiths and showcasing local businesses.

7. Round Table: The membership proceeded with a roundtable discussion.

8. Adjournment: MOVED by Louise Meier that the meeting be adjourned at 12:23pm.
