Bozzetti Di Patria. Il Belgio Nelle Avventure Di Tintin
OLIVIER RoCHE BOZZETTI DI PATRIA IL BELGIO IMMAGINARIO NELLE AVVENTURE DI TiNTIN intin, giornalista e avventuriero creato nel 1929 da Hergé – pseudoni- mo di Georges Prosper Remi –, è uno dei maggiori successi del fumet- to mondiale. Il segno lasciato da Hergé e dalla sua “linea chiara” nel- la cultura del Novecento è indelebile, considerevole la sua influenza. Les Aventures de Tintin, con oltre 230 milioni di album venduti in tutto il mondo (al 2009) e tradotti, dal francese, in oltre 80 lingue o dialetti, hanno Tincontrato un notevole successo tra i giovani lettori di Asia, Africa e America, facendo leva sullo zoccolo duro rappresentato dal pubblico europeo. È proprio qui, nel vecchio continente, che si svolge gran parte delle storie di Tintin e dei suoi compagni; in Europa iniziano e terminano le avventure, i viaggi intorno al mondo degli eroi col ciuffo in testa: il cane Milù e il Capitano Haddock, il profes- sor Girasole e la diva Castafiore, la coppia di detective Dupond e Dupont. Remi nacque in Belgio nel 1907. Educato e cresciuto in un ambiente conserva- tore, ottenne il suo primo impiego nel quotidiano cattolico reazionario «Le XXe siècle», dove nel 1929 pubblicò la prima storia di Tintin, giusto alla vigilia delle celebrazioni per il centenario della nascita del regno del Belgio. Anche se, sull’onda del successo internazionale e delle innumerevoli riedizio- ni, Hergé avrebbe progressivamente cancellato le tracce del plat pays dalle sue tavole, Tintin è belga; anzi, più precisamente, «irrimediabilmente, intensamente e atemporalmente» brussellese – sottolineano Daniel Justens e Alain Préaux –, «malgrado il suo carattere universale, oggi oramai riconosciuto, e l’invadente presenza di certi francesi sull’analisi dell’opera di Hergé, Tintin resta fondamen- talmente un titi, uno di quei monelli che a Bruxelles vengono chiamati kejte»1. -

This paper attempts to read Flight 714 for Sydney from the DOI: https://doi.org/10.7202/044537ar perspective of the philosophy, politics and aesthetics expressed in this magazine founded by Louis Pauwels. It contends that Hergé’s interest in See table of contents Unidentified Flying Objects and “extra-terrestrial civilizations” stems from a quest for political redemption, twenty-five years after the German occupation of Belgium. In the introduction to the first issue of Planète, Pauwels had transposed the rhetoric of resistance to the terrain of the supernatural, thus Publisher(s) offering Hergé and other former journalists of the collaborationist press (such Les Presses de l'Université de Montréal as Raymond De Becker and Bernard Heuvelmans) the opportunity to cosmically redeem their misguided past. Weih, Ph.D. University of Northern Iowa, USA 2015 Abstract The purpose of this paper is to guide the process of selecting meaningful books to use in pre-K-6 classrooms. With thousands of children’s books being published each year, it is difficult for teachers to select which ones hold the most potential to inspire students towards a life time of reading pleasure and purpose. This paper outlines selection criteria and provides lesson examples grounded within past and current pedagogical research. For this to occur, children need to understand that books can be part of their lives, that every book contains embedded meaning beneath the words- books are not just words on a page (Pantaleo, 2004). -

Tintin and the Adventure of Transformative and Critical Fandom

Volume 17, Issue 2 November 2020 Tintin and the adventure of transformative and critical fandom Tem Frank Andersen & Thessa Jensen, Aalborg University, Denmark Abstract: Using Roland Barthes’ and John Fiske’s notion of the readerly, writerly, and producerly text, this article provides an analysis and a tentative categorization of chosen transformative, fanmade texts for the comic book series The Adventures of Tintin. The focus is on the critical transformation of, and engagement with, the original text by academics, professional fans, and fans of popular culture. The analysis identifies different ways of transformational engagement with the original text: ranging from the academic writerly approach of researchers, over professional fans rewriting and critically engaging with the original text, to fanfiction fans reproducing heteroromantic tropes in homoerotic stories, fans of popular culture using Tintin figurines to document their own travels, and finally, fans who use Tintin covers as a way to express critical political sentiments. With Barthes and Fiske these groups are defined by their way of approaching the original text, thus working either in a readerly producerly or writerly producerly way, depending on how critical and political the producerly attitude is in regard to the original text. A motion capture movie about three of Tintin’s adventures failed to garner a larger following, despite having Steven Spielberg as the director (The Adventures of Tintin, Columbia Pictures, 2011). -

Tintin's investigation led him to the Tintin and Alph-Art belonging to Endaddine, a famous Cult leader, and a friend of Castafiore. The villa turned out to be a factory for faking old Masterpieces. Soon after discovering this criminal Tintin and Alph-Art, Tintin found himself a prisoner of Endaddine's, dreading the prospect Tintin and Alph-Art becoming the next piece of Alph-art Endaddine planned to pour liquid polyester over Tintin. -

Kramsch Preface I still can slightly remember how I stared at the TV in 1995 at the age of seven. The massacre of Srebrenica had happened and I couldn’t understand it at all. Thousands of people were killed and I just couldn’t get a clue of how such thing could happen. It turned out to be the worst ethnic cleansing in Europe since World War II. With retroactive effect the Yugoslavia breakup and its wars kept me fascinating. With the trials of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, just a hour and a half dive from my house and the questionable position and role of the Dutch militaries during the fall of Srebrenica, the Yugoslavia breakup stayed on the political and public agenda. Along the way I became very close friends with Jusmir, a Bosnian teammate from football and with that, I became friends with his whole family. Traces of the wars in Yugoslavia from which they fled to the Netherlands, are still very observable. From a wealthy Bosnian family, they became refugees with almost nothing in my own village.
