From Bedfont & Feltham FC Manager Adam Bessent: Good afternoon everyone and welcome to The Orchard. I hope our match officials and all associated with Eversley & California enjoy their short stay with us. It has been 4 weeks since our last league game here and due to poor weather and AC London's expulsion we've only played 2 competitive games in that time. Last Saturday was our poorest performance of the season. We are currently the highest scorers in the league but we were also very proud to hold the best defensive record. We made lots of mistakes and our work rate off the ball wasn't good enough. Luckily for us our front 4 were on song and carved out chances in the tough conditions, which they duly put away. As disappointing as the performance was, the boys kept plugging away in the second half and never gave up on getting something from the game. We won't play brilliantly every week, but it's important we still pick up points when we're below par. Everything considered, we'll take the point, learn from it and move on to today's game. Our visitors today are a young side, well coached and are capable of beating anyone in this league so we will have to get back to our best to get a positive result. These are my last set of notes before the Christmas break so on behalf of the players and the rest of the management team; I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and thank you for your ongoing support. I hope you enjoy the game. Adam Match Report Written by Derrick Smith Yellows fight back for valuable draw. Facing a very strong Epsom & Ewell side at Chipstead on Saturday in appalling conditions The Yellows came away with a hard fought point. The Yellows took the lead through Reece Gairy on 11 minutes with a nice finish to give the visitors the lead. 0-1. Epsom fought back with the equaliser shortly after to draw level.1-1. Due to the torrential rain both defences were making mistakes and the home side took the lead when they took advantage of slack defending. For the neutrals amongst the spectators it was turning into a very entertaining game.2-1. On 38 minutes Kelvin Karanja secured an equaliser for The Yellows after a well worked move to get to half time level.2-2. The second half continued at a frenetic pace but it was the home side who once more took the lead.3-2. But again the visitors came back to draw level when Farhad Mahboudi netted to level again at 3-3 on 67minutes. Shortly after this Epsom took the lead once again the as the match was heading towards the final whistle.4-3.It looked like the home side had secured all 3 points But in the 90th minute up popped Farhad Mahboudi to score from the tightest of angles to secure an important point. Final Score 4-4. Credit all 22 players for giving home and away spectators a match that will not be forgotten, having been played in such bad weather conditions. Thank you to our hosts for looking after us and look forward to meeting you all back at The Orchard in the New Year. Hello All, Hope you all had a fantastic weekend and it was great to see, in some limited ways, football fans back into stadiums in England last Saturday afternoon. Below were the ‘sell out’ scenes at Carrow Road where Norwich left it late to rescue a point against Preston North End as Canaries fans were able to bask in the late summer sun in East Anglia. They were scenes played out at a few other grounds around the country and we all had our fingers crossed that if we could all behave in the next few weeks we would soon be able to start watching our favourite teams in person. The news that came on Tuesday afternoon when Boris Johnson spoke to the nation really came as a blow to us all and the chances of getting crowds into grounds this season now really looks a long way off. Did Brentford deliberately try and make their new stadium look like a Subbuteo Stadium? If they did, they nailed it as it hardly looks real when you are watching on television! I have to say having been a regular over the past few seasons to Brentford I would really miss my trips to the tight confines of the old ground and it will be interesting to see how the Bess perform in their home. Griffin Park smelt of Bovril whenever I stepped through its gates and I mean that in the very nicest of ways as it had the feel of an incredibly old football ground steeped in history. Yes, clubs need to move forward and progress but I can’t help but feel that Brentford has lost a part of their history.

How and Why do Professional Sport Clubs Succeed? The Strategy and Performance of Premier League Football Clubs HENLEY BUSINESS SCHOOL THE UNIVERSITY OF READING DOCTOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION ICMA CENTRE ANDY STEVENS 21 DECEMBER 2018 Declaration I confirm that this is my own work and the use of all material from other sources has been properly and fully acknowledged. i Certificate of readiness to be included in library I grant powers of discretion to the University Librarian to allow this thesis to be copied in whole or in part without further reference to me. This permission covers only single copies made for study purposes, subject to normal conditions of acknowledgement. ii Abstract Abstract Since 1992, the Premier League has experienced considerable growth and, in 2015/16, had transformed into an industry – albeit one comprising just 20 firms – that generated revenue of £5.3 billion (Deloitte, 2017a). The business models of the clubs has evolved so that they now generate over half of their income from broadcast revenue, compared to less than one-tenth in the inaugural Premier League season in 1992/93. Much of the growth in broadcast revenue has been from overseas markets, while, contemporaneously, owners, players, team managers and business executives have also become globalised. The Premier League and its member clubs have been transformed into global brands. 18 of the 50 most valuable football club brands are members of the Premier League (Brand Finance, 2018), with Manchester United's brand alone valued at £1.4 billion. Clubs in England and Wales have been able to generate and appropriate considerable revenue by commercialising their resources and performance.

BOUNDARY BULLETIN The official matchday programme of Oldham Athletic Football Club Free to Download Oldham Athletic vs. Bolton Wanderers Sky Bet League Two - Matchday 31 Tuesday 2nd March 2021 - 7pm KO HEAD COACH - HARRY KEWELL “Hi everyone and thanks once again for supporting us from home.” There’s always an extra sense of anticipation when a home fixture comes straight on the back of a good away win and that’s certainly been evident over the past few days in our preparation for this evening’s game. The result we picked up at Carlisle United on Saturday felt like more than just three points due to the manner in which it was achieved and the character shown by the players to come from behind in such dramatic circumstances. As a team, we have developed a habit this season of battling back in games, and for the second successive Saturday, I was incredibly proud of our determination to keep going against strong opposition and produce a hard-earned result. I have said throughout the season that we have a young squad full of potential and our ability to record a win at Carlisle, along with the draw at Tranmere Rovers the previous weekend, shows we are progressing in the right way. Of course, we were all disappointed with the home defeat against Barrow in the middle of those results, but to respond so quickly in a difficult fixture is testament to the players and their hunger to put things right. No-one typifies that mentality more than Carl Piergianni who, despite being limited in his game-time in recent weeks, came off the bench to register an outstanding second-half performance at Brunton Park before scoring the goal that made sure of the win.
