  • International Scientific Student Conference
International Scientific Student Conference Students Facing the Challenges of the Twenty- First Century Ilia State University, Georgia 18-20 July, 2019 Proposal submission deadline: 10 April, 2019 The twenty-first century has brought new challenges to the university education. In the last few years, most universities have witnessed the significant inner transformations in their education system. However, there still remains a serious challenge to the universities to meet the demands of the social community the product of which they represent. At the turn of the 21st century, the major challenges face the university education system: economic globalization, knowledge-based economic growth, the information and communications revolution, global migration process, the national and transnational policy, - all these significant trends require a sufficient acquisition of competences and skills to ensure career success that students aim to achieve in 21st century. The challenges of the twenty-first century lead to a wide range of competences of various fields, namely, specialized capabilities, social and intercultural competences, language competences- English languish acquisition along with other languages, and finally, the immediate knowledge of economic and political forces that affect the modern societies. Accordingly, in the last two decades, the modern societies have witnessed the necessity of adopting a new teaching / learning model. There are a lot of relevant texts available that focus on the three leading issues- certain motivations for adopting a new learning and teaching model, the acquisition of specific competences and skills required to answer the challenges of the twenty- first century and the pedagogy of stimulation of these skills (Cynthia Luna Scott, 2015).

  • Combined Continuous Nonlinear Mathematical and Computer Models of the Information Warfare
INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF CIRCUITS, SYSTEMS AND SIGNAL PROCESSING Volume 12, 2018 Combined continuous nonlinear mathematical and computer models of the Information Warfare Nugzar Kereselidze quite productive and successfully implemented in different Abstract - In this paper, the first attempt is made to combine countries of the world. A number of mathematical and existing approaches of mathematical and computer modeling of computer models have been developed, which takes into information warfare. As a result, integration mathematical and account the course of information war in the conditions of computer models of information warfare were created. Until now, in different regimes: Restriction of information, continuity, the mathematical modeling of the information warfare, issues of information flows and information dissemination were considered discretion, and more. The models are basically two studying separately. The first direction was initiated by the idea of Professor T. objects. First, the information itself, which is distributed as a Chilachava, to study the distribution of information flows of the two stream and is intended to discredit the opposing side. Second - opposite and third peacekeeping sides by mathematical models. The the number of people who have received the information second direction was laid by Academician A.A. Samarskiy and disseminated by the side. It is noteworthy that the models Professor A.P. Mikhailov, who proposed a mathematical model for developed so far have mostly discussed only the number of the dissemination of information among the population. Both these directions have been intensively developed and many scientific information flows or the number of people who have received studies have been devoted to them.

  • Zone Deprived of Rights
Zone deprived of rights (Collection of materials describing the cases of violation of fundamental human rights and freedoms in Georgia) 1 2 The book is based on the materials from the Ombudsman’s annual report, as well as on the facts uncovered by various human rights organizations and independent journalistic investigations. Zone deprived of rights (Collection of materials describing the cases of violation of fundamental human rights and freedoms in Georgia) Publisher: “Isrotiuli Memkvidreoba” (“Historical Heritage”) Tbilisi, 2009 3 4 Foreword Facade democracy – is the major problem in Georgia. Beyond this facade multitude of citizens deprived of their values and rights, disrespected and in- timidated live, are imprisoned, or merely buried... This is visibly proved by the words of the journalist Stephan Scholl from Frankfurter Rundschau: “Europe has an idealized picture of what is happen- ing here. I have been in Georgia for a few days and I have such an impression that there is a two-storey Georgia. The first floor Georgia is displayed to for- eigners, the representatives of the western governments. Everything is superb here... However, I happened to go up to the second floor Georgia too and the real- ity here is completely different. I met the people whose children despite the lack of evidence were charged for murder and sentenced to many - more than thirty - years of imprisonment... I met those people and they are rather scared, scared to give even their names. Plea bargaining is rampant here and, if you have money, this issues could be solved... it is odd... Hence, the situation is not as perfect as it seems from the first floor.” The book we are offering tells about “the second-floor” Georgia.

  • The Peculiar Case of the Megrelians
Malmö University Faculty of Culture and Society Department of Global Political Studies International Migration and Ethnic Relations Two-year Master’s Thesis (IM622E) August 2012 The Peculiar Case of the Megrelians - Representation and Identity Negotiation in Post-Soviet Georgia Bobby Svitzer Supervisor: Dimosthenis Chatzoglakis 19800426-4134 Examiner: Anne Sofie Roald IMER Master’s Thesis 2012 Bobby Svitzer ABSTRACT In the post-Soviet country of Georgia is a strong sense of nationalism prevalent in the current process of nation building. The Megrelians, traditionally understood as a sub-ethnic Georgian group, form a majority in western Georgia. Many Megrelians are however displaced due to a civil war in 1992 and live outside their traditional territories. Much research has been done covering the situation of the displaced Megrelians. This study however, examines processes of Megrelian identity negotiations in relation to Megrelian representations, thus contributing to a wider understanding of Megrelians’ self-understanding. A field study was undertaken for two months in Georgia in order to gather information for this topic. From an ethnographic research approach, methods of interviews and observations were used to gather data. The findings from the analysis are discussed in relation to theories of representation, nationalism and identity. The study suggests that Megrelian identity interrelates with representations of politics, regional and national associations, surnames, language and assumed characteristics. Keywords: Georgia, Megrelians, Identity Negotiation, Representations, Field Study, Nationalism, Ethnography, Interviews, Observations. 1 IMER Master’s Thesis 2012 Bobby Svitzer ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS I would like to thank all of my research participants for letting me into their lives. I am also grateful for the aid and valuable information Karina Vamling at Malmö University has shared with me.
