Abstract: A list of 1595 species recorded from the area around Kétújfalu and Teklafalu (Baranya county, Hungary; 10×10km UTM grid codes: YL09 and YL19) is given. Twenty-eight protected species (including 3 species of community interest listed in the Habitats Directive) were found. Information about some rare rare species is added. Conservation measures of the area are proposed. Two species of Staphylinidae, Cilea exilis (Boheman, 1858) and Myrmecocephalus concinnus (Erichson, 1840) are new to the fauna of Hungary. Bevezetés Kétújfalu és környéke (Teklafalu, Bürüs, Gyöngyösmellék, Drávafok) Baranya megyében, a Duna-Dráva Nemzeti Park legközelebbi részétõl (Potony: Lugi-erdõ) 11 kilométerre fekszik (10×10 kilométeres UTM-rácskódok: YL09 és YL19). A terület bogárfaunájának rendszeres feltárása 1986-ban kezdõdött. A Dráva-sík délnyugati részén található települések közül Kétújfalu bogárfajairól SÁR (1992) már adott össze- foglalást. Teklafalu kutatása 2004-tõl 2008-ig tartott, és néhány bogárcsalád esetében megkétszerezte a korábban közölt fajok számát. Kétújfalui és teklafalui adatok több más közleményben is találhatók (CSABAI & SÁR 2007, KUTASI & SÁR 2007, MERKL 2008, MERKL et al. 2006, SÁR 1993, 1995, SÁR P. 2005, VIG 2008). The ground beetle supertribe Zuphiitae in the southern Levant (Coleoptera, Carabidae). Spixiana 38 (2): 237-262. Based on the study of approximately 400 specimens, we give an overview of the systematics and taxonomy, distribution, dispersal power, and habitat preferences of the carabids belonging to the tribes Anthiini, Helluonini, Dryptini, and Zuphiini in the southern Levant (Egypt: Sinai, Israel and Jordan). We provide identification keys for the members of the given taxa in this region. Eleven species of the Zuphi- itae sensu Ober & Maddison (2008) have previously been published from the southern Levant. -

This document is the final report of that survey. 1.2 Terrestrial Invertebrate Survey methodology 1.2.1 The minimum survey effort recommended by Brooks (Brooks, 1993. ‘Guidelines for invertebrate site surveys’. British Wildlife 4: 283-286) was taken as a basic requirement for the present survey. Daytime sampling of terrestrial invertebrate species was undertaken in all areas by direct observation, by sweep netting and by using a beating tray. In addition, a suction sampler was deployed and a number of pitfall and pan traps were set. 1.2.2 Sweep-netting. A stout hand-held net is moved vigorously through vegetation to dislodge resting insects. The technique may be used semi-quantitatively by timing the number of sweeps through vegetation of a similar type and counting selected groups of species. This technique is effective for many invertebrates, including several beetle families, most plant bug groups and a large number of other insects that live in vegetation of this type. -

POLISTICHUS CONNEXUS, een nieuwe loopkever voor nederland (coleoptera: carabidae) Theodoor Heijerman & Gerard Lommen Het gebeurt niet zo vaak dat er een loopkever als nieuw voor de Nederlandse fauna wordt gemeld. De laatste was Notiophilus quadripunctatus in 2014. We kunnen nu weer een nieuwe soort aan de Nederlandse lijst toevoegen, namelijk Polistichus connexus. Het bijzondere van deze vangst is dat het een vertegenwoordiger betreft van een groep (tribus) van loopkevers waarvan nog geen soorten in Nederland bekend waren. inleiding In Nederland komen geen andere soorten binnen Polistichus connexus (Geoffroy in Fourcroy, 1785) het genus voor en ook geen vertegenwoordigers is een loopkever die behoort tot de Zuphiini, binnen de Zuphiini noch binnen de Dryptinae. een tribus van loopkevers waarvan geen verdere Van het genus Polistichus komen in het Palaearc vertegenwoordigers in Nederland voorkomen. tisch gebied twee soorten voor, die beide ook in Op 31 augustus 2015 ving de tweede auteur één exemplaar van deze loopkever op licht (lamp met vanglaken) bij zijn huis in Treebeek (Bruns sum, Limburg) (fig. 2). Review of evidence concerning ragwort impacts, ecology and control options Report to Defra OCTOBER 2013 Authors: Ruth Laybourn, Debbie Kessell, Naomi Jones, Simon Conyers, Caroline Hallam, Nigel Boatman Food and Environment Research Agency Sand Hutton, York, YO41 1LZ 1 2 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Introduction Ragwort is a widespread native plant in the UK, which occurs in a range of habitats including those used for grazing livestock and hay or silage production, and is of concern because it contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) which are toxic to livestock. Problems have occurred particularly with poisoning of horses. Ragwort is a specified weed in the Weeds Act 1959, under which land owners can be required to take all reasonable steps to prevent spread on their land and onto adjoining land. Defra have issued a Code of Practice on How to Prevent the Spread of Ragwort, which was published in 2004 (revised 2007) (Defra, 2007). In order to ensure that guidance continues to be based on the latest and best evidence, the work reported here was commissioned by Defra with the following objectives: o Review and update the evidence base on the impacts of ragwort on livestock, methods of control and the cost, benefits and impacts of control; o Investigate experience of ragwort problems, policy and control in other countries o Make suggestions relating to the Code of Practice and further research needs. Biology and ecology Studies of Ragwort ecology and distribution have shown that: Ragwort is found in a wide range of habitats but requires bare ground or disturbance to establish. Ragwort plants form a rosette in their first year and typically flower, set seed and die in the second year, though in some situations they can be longer lived. -

The most interesting findings are the occurence Nemozoma caucasicum Ménétriés 1832, Pseudotomoderus compressicollis (Motschulsky, 1839), Teredus opacus Habelmann, 1854, Dermestoides sanguinicollis (Fabricius, 1787), Crepidophorus mutilatus (Rosenhauer, 1847), Microrhagus emyi (Rouget, 1855), Anitys rubens (Hoffmann, 1803), Quedius brevicornis (Thomson, 1860) and Q. truncicola Fairmaire & Laboulbéne, 1856. Key words: Faunistics, Coleoptera, Kačina Nature Monument, central Bohemia, Czech Republic ÚVOD V této práci shrnujeme významné nálezy brouků v PP Kačina z období 1976–2017. Přestože je lokalita entomologicky významná, je z ní publikovaných dat velmi málo. Několik údajů je uvedeno v publikacích BOHÁČE (1982, 1984, 1986). SLÁMA (1998) uvádí nedatovaný nález druhu Pedostrangalia revestita (Linnaeus, 1767) a starší nálezy druhu Rhamnusium bicolor bicolor (Schrank, 1781). O nálezu druhu Necydalis maior Linnaeus 1758 informují MORAVEC & FABIÁN (2006). Nálezy druhů Isorhipis melasoides (Laporte de Castelnau, 1835), Calambus bipustulatus (Linnaeus, 1767) a Crepidophorus mutillatus publikoval MERTLIK (2008, 2014 a 2016). V zájmové oblasti byly provedeny dva entomologické průzkumy (BAUER & BAUER 2008, PAPOUŠEK 2009). V práci JUŘENY et al. (2008) je uveden druh Protaetia aeruginosa (Linnaeus, 1767). -

Abstract: Data to the leaf-beetle fauna of Macedonia. {Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) - During the period of 1976-2004 the authors organized 10 collecting trips to localities in the areas of historical Macedonia (Republic of Macedonia, Pirin Mountains in Bulgaria and the Macedonian provinces of Greece). They have found 213 species of 61 genera in 11 subfamilies of Chrysomelidae. 23 species proved to be new to the fauna of the Republic of'Macedonia (ex Yugoslavian Macedonia). Keywords: faunistic data. Macedonia, Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae Introduction Between 1976 and 2004 systematic collections were conducted in historical (ethnic) Macedonia. Collecting localities included the areas in South-West Bulgaria, from the western and southern borders to the River Mesta int he East and to the geological sepa ration between the Rila and Pirin Mountains int he North. The research areas in Greece covered three Macedonian provinces: Western, Central and East Macedonia. The entire area of the Republic of Macedonia (ex Yugoslavian Macedonia) was researched. Localities of the collecting trips and the participating entomologists (person's names are given in Hungarian grammar: surname first, given name second) are listed: 1976: Yugoslavian Macedonia, Bulgaria (Pirin Mts.): Balogh Imre, Podlussány Attila, Podlussány Lajos, Rozner György, Rozner István és Rozner Istvánné. 1978: Yugoslavian Macedonia: Rozner István és Rozner Istvánné. -
