NAMING OF THE NEW LINGUISTIC SCHOOL BOARDS

With the coming into force on May 2, 1998 of the third and last order in council on the naming of the new French and English school boards, each school board now has an official name. Proposed by the provisional councils of the new school boards, the names were approved by the Commission de toponymie before being submitted to the government for adoption.

All school boards have a French name. English school boards have an English name in addition to their French name.
