Successful Season COMMUNITY BANK OF SAN JOSE North Market Street Telephone 286-2660 MEMBER FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE CORPORATION THE WEST VALLEY LIGHT OPEUA ASSOCIATION" First organized in the summer of 1964 with Mr. Paul B. Santos as President and Production Director, the Association i\'as incorporated as a non-profit organization on 12 August, 1964. The objects of the Association is to promote cultural activity in the area and to provide opportunities for drama students and others who have dramatic aspirations to take part in theatrical productions under the guidance of professional directors. Our first season saw the following productions: "THE UNSINK- ABLE MOLLY BROWN", "STOP THE WORLD", "OKLAHOMA". Under the skillful direction of Mr. Santos, all were performed in a professional manner. Unfortunately, u'e played in the West Valley College Auditorium, thereby giving the impression, due to the similarity of names, that we were a student organization. The W.V.L.O.A. has no cBimection with any school, college or church. •One wnique attraction of this Association for players is that we operate the emline year; to .aceomplish this ,a group was formed from among our membership, called THE OVERTURES. They consist of six male and six female singers, two pianists, a Director/Choreographer, and a Lighting Director. Tke OVERTURES provide a training ground for stage presence and experience to newcomers to our group, a pool of talent for our productions, and maintain interest on the part of our players between shows. THE OVERTURES have played at Moffett Field Officers' Club, Villa Felice, and for fraternal and civic organiza• tions too numerous to mention herfe. Directed by Mr. Sal Vallelunga, they are available at reasonable rates to perform for business, civic and fraternal organizations, for Veterans groups, churches, schools, etc. For information please write to the Association, or telephone 243-5353 or 356-6410. The Association is fortunate to have secured the services of Mr. Sherwood Goozee as Director. His picture and past accomplishments appear elsewhere in the program. Our schedule for this season includes OLIVER, followed by HERE'S LOVE, to be.produced in December, and HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS for April, 1967. We sincerely hope that you enjoy our shows. Should you feel inclined to become a member of this Association, our representative will be happy to explain the advantages of membership. Contributions are tax exempt. JOSEPH J.
