Mythical Creatures

Materials: Paper, Coloring supplies (any) Directions: There have been many mythical creatures in many different cultures. These creatures are usually the combination of two animals and might have special abilities. I want you to invent your own creature (combine 2-3 animals). Make a drawing, color it, and then write a little something that describes it! Check out the chart below of some Mythical Creatures from history. Some Famous Mythical Creatures

Hippocampus- Creature of that is half water and half horse. Can create tidal waves and breathe water like a breathes fire.

Hippogriff – symbol of love, half and half horse.

Griffin- Guardians of secretly buried wealth, the has the body of a and the head and wings of an eagle. It is also considered to be a symbol of strength and valor.

Pegasus- symbolizes beauty and majesty, a guide for humans towards the realm of the spirits. After its death, it was transformed into a of stars.

Phoenix- is a bird with a tail of colorful features that turn into fire. It is believed that when a Phoenix dies in its own fire, it will soon rise again from the ashes.

Dragon A gigantic and powerful serpent with magical spiritual characteristics. They are iconic for their powerful fire-breathing abilities. They have many different meanings. Sometimes meaning luck and other times being a symbol of war.

Jackalope- A North American hybrid animal that is a jackrabbit with antlers. Although it is small, it is defensive and aggressive. It is very fast and tough.
