LA FLORA VASCOLARE DELL’ISOLA DI CAPRAIA (ARCIPELAGO TOSCANO): AGGIORNAMENTO, ASPETTI FITOGEOGRAFICI E DI CONSERVAZIONE *

The vascular flora of the Capraia Island (Tuscan Archipelago): updating, phytogeographical aspects and conservation — The vascular flora of Capraia island is here examined. The check-list of the entities reported consists of 775 records, from which 35 must be escluded (excludendae) and 37 species must be considered doubtful because the voucher specimens was not found in any herbaria. The checked flora results of 703 entities: 179 of these was not found during our reserches and cannot be confirmed although their presence is verified by a voucher specimens. Actual flora consists of 524 entities, 18 of these are new records for the Capraia’s flora. The biological spectrum shows a clear dominance of the therophytes (43,5 %) and hemicriptophytes (24,85 %); the grow form spectrum shows the presence of 410 herbs, 99 woody species and 15 pteridophytes. Phytogeographical analysis shows that the Boreal-Tethyan geographical element (226 species) is dominant over the Tethyan, including mediterranean and endemics (177 species).
