SUOMEN SÄÄDÖSKOKOELMA MuuMnrovvvvSuomen asia presidentit vuoden 2017 juhlarahoista Julkaistu Helsingissä 25 päivänä tammikuuta 2017 40/2017 Valtiovarainministeriön asetus Suomen presidentit vuoden 2017 juhlarahoista Valtiovarainministeriön päätöksen mukaisesti säädetään metallirahasta annetun lain (216/1998) 1 §:n 2 momentin nojalla, sellaisena kuin se on laissa 378/2002: 1§ Vuonna 2017 julkaistaan Suomen presidentit -aiheiset 5 euron juhlarahat aiheinaan Ris- to Heikki Ryti, Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, Juho Kusti Paasikivi ja Urho Kaleva Kek- konen. 2§ Juhlarahojen keskusta on kuparinikkeliä, jonka painosta 75 % on kuparia ja 25% nik- keliä. Rengas on alumiinipronssia, jonka painosta on kuparia 92 %, alumiinia 6% ja nik- keliä 2 %. Pitoisuudet saavat vaihdella enintään ± 10 promilleyksikköä. 3§ Jokaisen juhlarahan halkaisija on 27,25 ± 0,1 millimetriä ja paino 9,8 ± 0,4 grammaa. Enintään 5 prosenttia rahoista saa poiketa halkaisijastaan enemmän kuin ± 0,1 millimet- riä. 4§ Juhlarahojen kuvat ja kirjoitukset laakapinnoilla on sijoitettu siten, että rahoja kirjan lehden tavoin käännettäessä kumpikin puoli on oikein päin. Rahojen arvopuolella on ne suunnitelleen taiteilijan sukunimen alkukirjain L sekä Suo- men Rahapaja Oy:n tunnus. 5§ Suomen presidentit -juhlarahoilla on yhteinen arvopuoli, joka on seuraavan selitelmän ja kuvan mukainen. Rahojen arvopuolen taustana on suomalainen peltomaisema. Maiseman keskellä on avattu kirja, jonka lehdillä on kuvattu urbaani, rakennettu ympäristö teollisuuslaitoksineen ja taloineen. Teksti SUOMI on rahan kehällä vasemmalla, teksti FINLAND rahan kehällä keskellä ylhäällä ja vuosiluku 2017 rahan kehällä oikealla. 10.1515/nor-2017-0211 Nordicom Review 28 (2007) 2, pp. 81-92 Public Opinion, Journalism and the Question of Finland’s Membership of NATO JUHO RAHKONEN Abstract The big question behind the research on media and democracy is: do media influence public opinion and the actual policy? The discussion about Finland’s NATO membership is a case in point. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, there has been a continuous public debate about whether Finland should join NATO. In the last 16 years, however, public opinion on NATO membership has not changed much. Despite the changes in world politics, such as NATO enlargement and new weapons technology, Finns still rely on military non-alliance and want to keep their own army strong. During the last ten years, there seems to be no correlation between media coverage and public opinion: pro-NATO media content has not been able to make Finns’ attitudes towards NATO more positive. The information provided by most of the Finnish newspapers is different from the way ordinary people see NATO. In the papers’ view, joining the alli- ance would be a natural step in Finland’s integration into Western democratic organiza- tions. Ordinary people on the contrary consider NATO more as a (U.S. led) military alli- ance which is not something Finland should be a part of. Historical experiences also dis- courage military alignment. In the light of data drawn from newspaper articles and opin- ion polls, the article suggests that journalism has had only a slight effect on public opin- ion about Finland’s NATO membership. -

Aihe on alkanut kiinnostamaan minua yhä enemmän, kun olen saanut selville tietoja Abraham Ojanperästä. Kerron ensin Ojanperän eri elämänvaiheista, hänen opiskelustaan ja urasta musiikin parissa kanttorina ja laulunopettajana. Sen jälkeen tutkin Ojanperän yhteyksiä aikansa säveltäjiin ja muihin muusikkoihin, erityisesti kirkkomuusikoihin. Etsin myös tietoa Ojanperän lauluoppilaista. Tutkin työssäni, onko Ojanperä myötävaikuttanut suomalaisen, suomenkielisen kirkkomusiikin syntymiseen tai julkaisemiseen, ja minkälaisia vaikutuksia suomalaiseen musiikkikulttuuriin hänellä on ollut. Työssäni käytän lähteenä Anna-Maija Näsäsen kirjoittamaa teosta Abraham Ojanperä, laulajan elämä, Iikka Niemelän lukuisia kirjoituksia Ojanperän elämään liittyen sekä erilaisia lehtiartikkeleita ja muita lyhyempiä tekstejä, jotka löysin Limingan kirjaston arkistokansiosta. Premiered by Anne Sofie von Otter on 6th December 2015 Anne Sofie von Otter, mezzo-soprano Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra Hannu Lintu, conductor 3 Jean Sibelius (1865–1957) is appreciated first and foremost as a composer of symphonies, but he was equally ambitious and productive in writing tone poems. In fact, his single-movement Seventh Symphony Op. 105 (1924) and the tone poem Tapiola Op. 112 (1926) demonstrate just how close these two genres came to merging in his output. Tone poems linked Sibelius to the radical Romantic composers of the 19th century: programme music allowed composers to expand their musical idiom and to break out of the bounds of formal structures. -

Krouk Doctor of Philosophy in Scandinavian University of California, Berkeley Professor Mark Sandberg, Chair This study examines selections from the work of three modernist writers who also supported Norwegian fascism and the Nazi occupation of Norway: Knut Hamsun (1859- 1952), winner of the 1920 Nobel Prize; Rolf Jacobsen (1907-1994), Norway’s major modernist poet; and Åsmund Sveen (1910-1963), a fascinating but forgotten expressionist figure. In literary studies, the connection between fascism and modernism is often associated with writers such as Ezra Pound or Filippo Marinetti. I look to a new national context and some less familiar figures to think through this international issue. Employing critical models from both literary and historical scholarship in modernist and fascist studies, I examine the unique and troubling intersection of aesthetics and politics presented by each figure. After establishing a conceptual framework in the first chapter, “Unsettling Modernity,” I devote a separate chapter to each author. Analyzing both literary publications and lesser-known documents, I describe how Hamsun’s early modernist fiction carnivalizes literary realism and bourgeois liberalism; how Sveen’s mystical and queer erotic vitalism overlapped with aspects of fascist discourse; and how Jacobsen imagined fascism as way to overcome modernity’s culture of nihilism. -

From Silence to Historical Consciousness The Holocaust and WWII in Finnish History Politics ANTERO HOLMILA JOUNI TILLI ABSTRACT: Despite the fact that there are similar trajectories and turning points between Finland’s and other European countries’ responses to the Holocaust, it is still the case that trends in Holocaust studies and key debates within the field have had less impact on Finnish understanding of the Holocaust than one might suspect. Instead, as this article examines, the way in which Finland’s Holocaust awareness has been developing since the end of the war in general, and in the 2000s in particular, has been intimately linked with the Finnish understanding of its own role in WWII. This tendency was most clearly illustrated in the controversy that took place during 2003 and 2004 with the publication of Elina Sana’s book Luovutetut [The Extradited]. RÉSUMÉ : Malgré le fait qu’il existe des trajectoires et points-clés similaires entre la réponse de la Finlande et les réponses des autres pays européens à l’Holocauste, elle demeure le cas en vogue dans les études de l’Holocauste, et les débats-clés au sein de ce champ d’études ont eu moins d’impact sur la compréhension finlandaise de l’Holocauste que l’on pourrait le soupçonner. À la place, tel que l’examine cet article, la façon dont s’est développée la conscience finlandaise de l’Holocauste depuis la fin de la guerre en général, et dans les années 2000, en particulier, a été intimement liée à la compréhension finlandaise de son propre rôle dans la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
