The First College of Fishery Science in Telangana state was established as per G.O.Ms.No.2 dated:11.01.2017 of Sspecial Chief Secretary to Government, Animal Husbandry Dairy Development & Fisheries, and inaugurated on 4th December, 2017 at Pebbair, under this P. V. Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University. The College offers Bachelor of Fishery Science (B.F.Sc.), professional degree programme in 8 semesters (4 Academic years). Presently, the intake capacity for under-graduation (UG) Course is 25 students per year.

Objectives • To promote a greater understanding of the biological, technical and economic importance of fisheries and related areas. • To encourage students to explore the subject by specializing in fisheries and further studies. • To undertake the extension activities to benefit fish farmers of Telangana state by socio economic upliftment and also to transfer of technology to industry.

• To promote field and lab oriented research to tackle the emerging problems in fisheries and industry development.

Admissions:

Admissions are made on the basis of ranks obtained in the EAMCET (Biological science, Physics and Chemistry stream) examination for which the students, who have completed their 10+2 examination, are eligible. For this course the students of biological science stream are eligible. The 25%, out of the total seats of 25, (6 seats) students are admitted under Farmer’s quota. Students are admitted duly following rules and regulations in vogue.
