The production that opens the Off Broadway Palm Theatre's 10th season should be required viewing for any rising Junior and/or Senior in high school, a pre- requisite for graduation! Slop the World... I Want to Gel Off is a mini-course in Human Growth & Development with humor, pathos, and beautiful music in two hours — infancy, youth, adulthood, old age, even death — and one doesn't even know one is absorbing knowledge until one wakes up the next morning. (I can think of a number of teachers, as well, who might bring to their students a few insights from this show.) I saw this Anthony Newley/Leslie Bricusse show on Broadway, with Newley in the lead. I remember it as boring. But that was in a "standard-size" theater — orchestra, mezzanine, first and second balcony — and I was in the balcony.
