CHAPTER-1 District Profile

CHAPTER-2 Social Infrastructure 2.1 Population

According to the 2011 census Jalore district has a population of 1,830,151.This gives it a ranking of 260th in (out of a total of 640).The district has a population density of 172 inhabitants per square kilometre (450/sq mi) . Its population growth rate over the decade 2001-2011 was 26.31%. Jalor has a sex ratio of 951 females for every 1000 males,] and a literacy rate of 55.58%.32. Information related to the population of the district is given in Table 1.

2.2 Human Resources: -

Human resources in the education sector in the district is currently in progress. Currently the private sector in the bishengarh Poloteknik college girl is employed, in which various diploma courses are offered. And the ITI Sayla Electric beige Center. In rural areas of Jalor district, sex ratio is 955 females per 1000 males. If child sex ratio data of Jalor district is considered, figure is 895 girls per 1000 boys. Child population in the age 0-6 is 294,006 in rural areas of which males were 155,142 and females were 138,864. The child population comprises 18.09 % of total rural population of Jalor district. Literacy rate in rural areas of Jalor district is 53.34 % as per census data 2011. Gender wise, male and female literacy stood at 69.38 and 36.78 percent respectively. In total, 737,675 people were literate of which males and females were 487,407 and 250,268 respectively.

Currently 3 Government College in the district, 07 are private colleges. The district is one of the educationally backward districts. Sankshrta rate of 55.58 percent of the college and Insititut position is given in Table 4. Table number – 3

2.7 Medical Facilities

Health institutions in the district - District 430 welcome. A general hospital at the district headquarters, which operates centers, community welcome. Centre 11, primary welcome. 69 and 394 sub-stations are centrally operated. Aelupethik district, hospital and related to Ayurvedic and Homyopthik medical doctor are available. CHAPTER-4 Agro Resources 4.1 Area and Producation of Major Details of agricultural production: - Jalore district, 75 percent of the district population living in the area of agriculture and related sites. The total geographical area of arable land, of which 863 906 ha are Kshatrfl are 1056600 hectares. Of this, 290 807 ha are irrigated. Which is 33.66 percent of the total arable land. 4.2 The major crops

Rabi crops are wheat, gram mustard district Taramira isabgul Ardi is produced. Kharif main crop millet, Mut, moong, Cvla, sesame, Ardi, is chilly. Raida, cumin and isabgul produced here are used in record amounts.

5.2 availability of dairy products

CHAPTER-6 Water Resources 6.1 Water &Irrigation Resources

CHAPTER-8 Tourism 8.1Tourism Famed for its numerous quarries, Jalore has risen to prominence for producing some of the finest granite in the world. Originally a small town, industrial growth has helped Jalore grow by leaps and bounds in recent times. The ‘tope khana’ or cannon foundry at Jalore Fort is the foremost tourist attraction of Jalore and it provides stunning views of the city. The city is also famed for the Sundha Mata which was built around 900 years ago and is sacred to the devotees of goddess Devi.

Believed to be founded in the 8th century AD, Jalore was originally called Jabalipur in honour of the saint Maharishi Jabali. The town was also known as Swarngiri, after the hill at the foot of which it is situated. Over the centuries a number of clans ruled over Jalore including the Gurjara Pratiharas, the and the Chauhans until the city was captured and destroyed by the Sultan of Delhi, Ala-Ud-Din-Khilji. After 4 centuries the city was finally restored back to the rulers of Marwar in 1704.

CHAPTER-10 Transportation 10.1 Road Network

Details of the streets - most of paved roads in the district have been added to the other districts. The district is linked by rail and bus service.
