For three days every year Oktoberfest, hosted by the German American Klub at German Park, is a flurry of activity and celebration with live music, dancing, food, drink and a carnival midway. This year was no exception. The 45-year fest is often associated with beer, and that certainly plays a part. Food offerings were plenty: bratwurst, knack- wurst, potato pancakes and salad, hot dogs heaped with sauerkraut and mustard, Brezeln (pretzels) and German roasted al- monds. And the desserts: strudels – ap- ple and cherry, Black Forest and German chocolate cake.
