We always need your news, information and articles, otherwise there will be no content, so please make sure to send whatever you have either to me or to our new Student Editor, Mahalia Frank. Lastly, I would like to thank Georgia Jerwood, the previous Student Editor for all her amazing help for the last couple of years. Nathan Emery, Editor ------NEWS Dr Kristin Hadfield was interviewed for a BBC Mundo story about how stress affects the body, although you’ll have to be able to read Spanish or use Google Translate to understand it. https://www.bbc.com/mundo/noticias-46650460

Prof Lars Chittka’s research on bees was discussed in an article on crow cognition for the Financial Times. Interestingly (and rather annoyingly), my own work was mentioned a number of times in this article, but with no mention of my name… https://www.ft.com/content/c312258c-1299-11e9-a581-4ff78404524e

EVENTS Join us for the Department of Psychology's Inaugural Mind & Brain Lecture!

Continuing our celebration of the Department's 10 year Anniversary, we have created a new named lecture to showcase the innovation, creativity, and impact of Psychology as a discipline.

We are very pleased to welcome Professor (UCL) as the inaugural speaker for this lecture (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/cdcn/aboutus/steering/Maguire).

Professor Maguire is a Wellcome Trust Principal Resesarch Fellow, Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at UCL, a Fellow of the Royal Society, and a Fellow of the British Academy. She has also received the Royal Society's Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to science.

Professor Maguire's talk, "How are memories represented in the human brain?", will highlight her influential neuropsychological and neuroimaging research which offers a fresh perspective on the key processes underpinning autobiographical memory, and uncovers how specific brain regions interact to produce the seamless re-experiencing of past events.

Following the talk, we will be hosting a wine reception in the Fogg foyer for the speaker and attendees.

The event is free and all are welcome to attend!

As seating and catering is limited, sign-up via EventBrite is required. You may sign-up here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/inaugural-mind-brain-lecture- registration-55038979068
