-Antiques- Continued from 1-A vintage and collectable items, and they do have a lot of them. If you plan to visit, they are open Thursday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 Teague Thrift Store p.m.

Teague Thrift Store Owned by the Teague Historical Preservation Society, INC., the Teague Thrift Store is an ever- changing collection of donated items that vary depending on what they receive each week. The monies raised go towards restoration projects, such as the Historical Teague Hotel. They plan to soon open a location across the street that will house tools and similar items. Hours are Thursday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They are located at 306 Main St, Teague.

Junkin’ Jo’s Also located in Teague is Junkin’ Jo’s Antiques and Boutiques. This is a sort of mall set up with vendors with different booths, offering a variety of items. Antiques are, obviously, one of the major items offered here; but there is so much more. Items can range from antique dinnerware and furniture up to gift ideas, as well as work from renowned Texas artist, Amanda Smith. The doors are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and located Wortham Antique Mall at 325 E Loop 255 in Teague.

The Warehouse a.k.a. Lazy Texan Newly relocated and expanded, the Lazy Texan has joined with Junkin Gypsie and Country Clutter to become The Warehouse. They are located in the old Ballard AC building at 235 S Fairway in Fairfield. Goods are many times handpicked while owners are ‘Gone Junkin’, including yard décor and furniture and whatever finds are made. The Warehouse Stop by Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to see what all they have to offer, but the “Gone Junkin’” sign means that they are out doing just that.

Armadillo Emporium Located right off the Courthouse Square in Fairfield, Texas, this shop offers a huge assortment. Armadillo Emporium Antiques mix in with the beautiful jewelry and collectibles. Painting classes are also hosted there. Vendors keep the selection varied and exciting with stuff being moved around frequently enough to justify visiting often. They are open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Parker Square Mall Parker Square Mall Located in Fairfield as well, this antique mall proudly showcases shelf after shelf of antique glass intertwined with beautiful, old and elegant furniture. The multiple booths are full, most offering antiques, but there is also a selection of gift items, plus more of artistAmanda Smith’s work. Parker Square Mall has been bringing people in, from across the nation, for many years, and for what looks to be many more years to come. The doors are open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday Cucklbur Trading 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Cucklebur Trading Located right outside Fairfield on Highway 84 east is a combination of booth rentals and the fun mixture that is expected when shopping at Cucklebur. The front half carries booths which are more gifts and collectable oriented, and the back half is where the antiques are partying. Multiple pieces of good quality furniture, aged to perfection, are found along with a huge collection of dolls. They are open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Fashion model Erin Wasson once said, “I shop a lot more for furniture than I do for clothes. I much prefer going to an antique shop full of obscurities.” Take Ms. Wasson’s advice and go check out one of the local “antique shop full of obscurities.”
