The show will feature fan favorite professional and troupe dancers in a brand-new production showcasing every type of dance style as seen on ABC’s hit show Dancing with the Stars, ranging from ballroom and jazz to modern and hip-hop. Choreographed and creative directed by Emmy© Award-winning choreographer Mandy Moore and Dancing with the Stars Executive Producer Ashley Edens-Shaffer, audiences will have the opportunity to experience the excitement, glamour and glitz they see in the ballroom every Monday night live at the Fox Theatre on Monday, February 11th. WELCOME Dear Northrop Dance Lovers, Photo © James Everest We are pleased to share the world premiere of SHORE, the newest work NORTHROP PRESENTS from Emily Johnson/Catalyst, and the culmination of all of the events of our Northrop Grand Reopening. EMILY JOHNSON/CATALYST SHORE is the final work in a trilogy by this amazing Minnesota-based artist, and Northrop has been honored to present both The Thank-you Bar and Niicugni— the first two works in this trilogy—in our previous seasons. These have been SHORE thoughtful and provoking works by an artist who is truly pushing the boundaries Emily Johnson of what dance and performance can mean. Artistic Director Being able to present SHORE as the closing event of our season is a perfect Ain Gordon example of the transformation that Northrop has undergone. SHORE joins Director together Northrop’s resident partners in very meaningful ways: James Everest Emily Johnson is a 2013 McKnight Choreography Artist Fellow (housed within Lead Collaboration, Music and Sound Direction Northrop), as well as a fellow of the University of Minnesota’s Institute for Advanced Study (one of Northrop’s new resident partners). (TV-PG, L) Episodes can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu. Tyra Banks will walk out to “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee. For this week, there will be two rounds of competitive dance performances and the stakes are high to get into the finals. In the first round, celebrities will repeat a dance style they struggled with earlier in the season with a new song as their redemption dance. The judges will mentor each of the couples. For the second round, couples will perform another style of dance as they try to make it into the semi-finals. Live votes (via abc.com, the ABC app and SMS/text) will occur each week only during the live broadcast in the EST/CST time zones (but fans in all U.S. time zones may vote within that window). The live vote combined with the judges’ scores will be revealed during the broadcast. At the end of the evening, the judges will decide which celebrity up for elimination stays in the competition and which celebrity’s journey comes to an end.
