Summer is nearing an end, It’s September already. It is the best time of year. It’s football season. The time of year when our Sat- urdays and/or Sundays are spent cheering or yelling and throwing things at the T.V. Alliances are made and lines are drawn all in support of the team you follow. It’s the greatest time of year. Moving on I have been watching some How the Universe Works, I know you’re think- ing, Here we go with this space stuff again. Well buckle up, let’s talk a little Saturn. Saturn the crown jewel of our solar system. Saturn is a large gas giant that has a rocky core. The pressures are so great on Saturn’s interior that the hydrogen takes on me- tallic qualities to create its magnetic field. Saturn is big, it can hold 700 Earth inside it. Its most diminishing feature is its rings. Spanning over 100,000 mile wide, and in areas only 33 feet thick. The rings are mostly made up of ice and dust. The rings are very young, only about 100 million years old. When Saturn formed it had no rings, how different would that look. Saturn has around 60 moons. Ranging from the 18 mile wide Pan to Titan that is larger than Mercury. The moon Enceladus has been shown Address: City: State: Zip: NTOC Membership # if renewal to have liquid water and may support life. A very intruding system.
