Giovanni Agnelli” in Torino to Celebrate 95 Years Milan-based Giorgio Nada Editore has also released its latest tribute, “Zagato Milano 1919-2014,” a beautiful, limited-edition, anniversary book now available for sale. TORINO, Italy (11 December 2014) – The Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile “Avv. Giovanni Agnelli” is delighted to announce “Zagato: Collectibles and Design Since 1919,” a tailor-made exhibition opening tomorrow, on the 12th of December, honoring the 95th anniversary of the historic Milanese coachbuilder and the close of its year-long celebration. Nine extraordinary collectibles, from both classic and contemporary periods, will be exclusively showcased throughout the duration of the exhibition: 12 December-15 March 2015. The Zagato display cars have been hand-selected as a representation of the most prestigious Zagato collaborations with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) spanning from 1919 to 2014, and to celebrate the atelier, racing, design and lifestyle of the legendary “Zeta.” “Zagato: Collectibles and Design Since 1919” is a special, first-time opportunity for the public to witness such a significant gathering of nine Zagato automobiles, which are typically tucked away in the world’s most exclusive private collections. An extraordinary gesture for the Museum Nazionale dell’Automobile to celebrate Zagato’s role and influence, the objective is to reach as many people around the world as possible through unique exhibitions such as this in order to encourage education and perspective for automotive history and preservation. A symbol and guardian of creativity, craftsmanship and industry linked to the automotive world, the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile tells – through a complex and fascinating exhibition – the history of creativity, from its origins to the present day. It’s not by chance that design plays a central role in the museum. Or better, design is its beating heart. The museum is a space that tells about creative work and ideas that become substance thanks to diligence and teamwork. The ground floor of the museum has been completely reorganized with spectacular scenery, designed to promote a wider knowledge of car design, historical evolution, and the people who have determined past changes, present situations and future trends. This is the context where the collaboration between the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile and Zagato lives: an exhibition of incredible cars that tells how creative flair, great craftsmanship and innovation have enabled the brand to become a world- renowned symbol of Italian excellence. “Zagato: Collectibles and Design Since 1919” Classic Cars Display Five very significant and historic Zagatos of different eras have been assembled to demonstrate the evolution that began with the racing era at the beginning of the century and ended with computer- aided design in the ‘80s and ‘90s. The following cars will be on display in Torino: Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Testafissa Zagato representing the Corse era of the 1910-20s Lancia Aprilia Sport Zagato representing the Aerodinamica era of the 1930-40s Maserati A6G 54 Zagato representing the Gran Turismo era of the 1950-60s Lancia Flavia Supersport Zagato representing the Fuoriserie era of the 1960-70s Alfa Romeo S.Z. representing the CAD/ CAM/ CAE era of the 1980-90s “Zagato: Collectibles and Design Since 1919” Contemporary Cars Display The current decade of the 2010s may be considered a time period of Icone for Zagato, which has been paying homage through its work with the most iconic models of its own history as well those of other prestigious brands that have significantly impacted greater culture. The following will also be on display in Torino: Fiat 500 Coupé Zagato (2011) BMW Zagato Coupé (2012) Aston Martin Virage Shooting Brake Zagato (2014) Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale (2011) A Review of Zagato’s 95th Anniversary Year: “Zagato Milano 1919-2014,” a new limited-edition, anniversary book now available for purchase Thanks to a longstanding friendship, Milan-based Giorgio Nada Editore collaborated with Zagato this summer to publish “Zagato Milano 1919-2014,” a limited-edition, anniversary book that tells the fascinating history of the Milanese coachbuilder, its evolution in functional and rational design and the influence it has had on motorsport and style, decade by decade. The detailed reportage totals 208 pages and was created with Zagato’s own archives. “Zagato Milano 1919-2014” is now exclusively available for sale through the publisher’s retailers in Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well through the official bookstore of the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile. Zagato Atelier Unveiled Two New Cars in 2014 This year, Zagato Atelier unveiled two new contemporary collector cars to the world: the Aston Martin Virage Shooting Brake Zagato, which debuted at the Chantilly Arts & Elegance Concours d'Elegance in September, and the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato, which debuted at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in May. The Aston Martin Shooting Brake is a one-off creation based on a Virage donor car, commissioned by a private European client as part of Zagato's trilogy honoring Aston Martin's centennial last year. The Lamborghini is part of a low-number series. 2014 Compasso d'Oro Design Award Nominations Zagato's designers received two nominations for the prestigious Compasso d'Oro Award this year, for the Alfa Romeo TZ3 and Aston Martin V12 Zagato. Notably, the Aston Martin V12 Zagato received the Menzione d'Onore out of hundreds of nominations for Italy's best designs. Founded more than 50 years ago by the Associazone per il Disegno Industriale (ADI), the Compasso d'Oro is the highest design recognition for a product in Italy and, since 2004, Italy's Cultural Heritage Ministry records all title holders for their historical significance. Team Scuderia Sports Zagato Driver Team Mozzi – Biacca Won the 2014 Mille Miglia Sharing the same passion of motorsport as its earlier generations, Zagato remains actively involved - with Andrea Zagato and Marella Rivolta Zagato as devoted drivers - in racing through its partnership with Scuderia Sports, the celebrated historic racing team founded in 2009 that competes among most of the top international events. A thrilling victory, Scuderia Sports Zagato’s top driving team, Giordano Mozzi – Stefania Biacca, won overall at this year’s Mille Miglia, marking the fifth podium finish at the 1,000-mile race for Scuderia Sports’ international team of enthusiast drivers. More information About Zagato Founded in 1919, Zagato is an Atelier of the third millenium and Total Design Center that applies the same Milanese philosophies of functionalism and rationalism as Founder Ugo Zagato had nearly a century ago. .PRESTIGE .ENERGY .ELEGANCE .HERITAGE .PASSION the Idea Zagato’s Tribute to IsoRivolta is dedicated to the glorious model Grifo A3 Corsa and intends to reawaken this track car that was successful in the races in the 60’s, matching perfectly with the centenary Zagato DNA. the History In the early 1950s Iso had already an established strong reputation in lightweight motorcycles and motorscooters. Then founder Renzo Rivolta decided to enter into the GT cars world. After incredible success at Italy’s famed 1000-mile Mille Miglia race with Isetta winning the trophy from 1953 to 1955, IsoRivolta returned to competition in the 1960s to promote its GT cars. The most famous racer was the Grifo A3 Corsa. Its coachwork was much more radical than its street counterparts, with an engine set so far back in the bay that it was a true front mid-engine design. This model participated in races all over the world including Sebring, Reims, Montlhery, Monza, Spa and the Austrian Grand Prix, among others and won in its class at Le Mans in 1964 and 1965. In 1965 the street legal version of A3/C was designed and made by IsoRivolta having Johnny Hallyday as a very special Client. the Inspirational design The Grifo A3/C is a bare bones racecar, with a highly sensuous form language, subsequently used on other famous cars.

  • CORROZZERIA ZAGATO: CARS of the "LIGHTNING Z" HONORED at the 19TH ANNUAL AMELIA CONCOURS D'elegance"
Event Information Tickets Visitors Guide Charity Sponsors News & Media Gall ery CORROZZERIA ZAGATO: CARS OF THE "LIGHTNING Z" HONORED AT THE 19TH ANNUAL AMELIA CONCOURS d'ELEGANCE" Photo by Michael Furman The cars wearing Zagato's "lightning Z" badge have become classics and icons. On March 9, 2014 the 19th annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance will honor the brilliance and creativity of Ugo Zagato and his heirs with a class of Zagato-bodied cars from the likes of Ferrari, Maserati, Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Abarth, Hispano-Suiza, FIAT, Rolls-Royce, Lancia, Lamborghini, MG, Bentley, Porsche, Spyker and even British supercar builder Aston Martin, for whom Zagato created their masterpiece, the landmark DB4 GT Zagato. "The most beautiful car is the one that wins," said Enzo Ferrari. As leader of Alfa Romeo's racing department during the 1930s, Enzo Ferrari saw fleets of Alfa Romeo racers wearing Zagato's functional and beautiful coachwork win scores of legendary road races. Sons Elio and Gianni Zagato instantly grasped their father's elegant and simple philosophy; "When we design and build something functional, it is always beautiful." Ugo Zagato signed his work with justifiable pride. His "lightning Z" badge still rides on the flanks of many of the world's most exotic, desirable, successful, beautiful and fast cars. Zagato coachwork cloaked the first Formula 1 World Champions in 1950. They wore the winners' laurels in Enzo Ferrari's favorite race, the brutal and grueling Mille Miglia, where Zagato-bodied cars earned their global reputation from the very first "1000 miles" in 1927. It began in 1919 when founder Ugo Zagato applied aircraft construction techniques to the design and creation of automobile bodies.

  • KLETTERER War Lancia Damals Bereits Zwei Schritte Weiter

Event Calendar | Shop Tickets | Visitor's Guide We're excited to unveil the posters for the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, as well as the Tour d'Elegance and RetroAuto. Ferrari celebrates its 70th Anniversary at Pebble Beach this year, so not one but two of our posters feature prancing horses. The third poster focuses on our prewar featured marque, Isotta Fraschini. Below we share the history of the magnificent automobiles that our talented artists have depicted. We thank Barry Rowe & Tim Layzell for their fantastic work. 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Poster Artist: Barry Rowe Car: 1951 Ferrari 212 Export Touring Barchetta Initial Sketch Poster Art Final Poster The 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance poster, painted by distinguished automotive artist Barry Rowe, portrays a car that is quintessentially Ferrari— offering the best of both road and race capabilities. Illustrated on the poster, a 1951 Ferrari 212 Export Touring Barchetta (chassis 0102 E) graces the competition field early one significant Sunday morning in August. The car’s first owner, Pietro Palmieri, raced it in the Giro Delle Calabrie and the Coppa Adriatica finishing first in class and a 2nd and 4th overall. It was later loaned to and raced by Bobby Baird, leading to another class win at the RAC’s famed Tourist Trophy race in Dundrod, Ireland. The Barchetta is perhaps mostknown for its appearance in the movie “The Racers,” produced by Twentieth CenturyFox in 1955 and starring Kirk Douglas. It is said that the movie’s producer, Henry Hathaway, approached Enzo Ferrari for the loan of some cars for the movie, but Enzo said “no.” Fox studios then approached Phil Hill, who helped to broker the sale of three Ferraris.

NEWS RELEASE Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage TWINS by R-Reforged confirms specification and UK production Full details and specification revealed for limited production thoroughbred celebrating Zagato’s centenary Licenced by Aston Martin, production of the Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage TWINS by R-Reforged will now take place at R-Reforged’s new UK facility in Warwick Download image gallery here Bespoke automotive manufacturer R-Reforged has announced plans to produce its Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage TWINS by R-Reforged in-house at its new facility in Warwick. R-Reforged will now hand build the 38 Coupé and Speedster TWINS that celebrate the centenary of the Zagato Atelier (1919-2019) and 60-year long partnership between the Milanese ‘Signature’ and British sports car manufacturer. Offered solely in pairs to just 19 customers (with the majority already sold), the sculpted Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage TWINS by R-Reforged were created by Zagato and R-Reforged to combine the best of two automotive worlds: a sporting Speedster in its purest form and a timeless Coupé, redefining the 2011 Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato. Each features iconic Zagato design cues synonymous with the Carrozzeria, notably the ‘double bubble’ roof on the Coupé and, exclusively, the 100th anniversary gold Z badging. Now derived from the later V12 Vantage S, the 19 Coupés and 19 Speedsters feature a reworked version of its 5.9 litre 48 valve, naturally aspirated engine to produce 600bhp (85bhp more than the original). Clothed in an all-carbon fibre body, both incorporate an active aero and deployable rear wing to improve stability at high speeds whilst maintaining the clean surfaces and pure lines of the Zagato design.
