We work on a variety of sites from Sittingbourne to Sevenoaks to Staplehurst, going somewhere different every week in the KWT landrover. Does this sound like your kind of adventure? We’re lead by Steve Weeks, Medway Valley Warden, who has been working with Kent Wildlife Trust for many years, alongside some experienced and knowledgeable volunteer team leaders. We love sharing our enthusiasm and skills and welcome all levels of ability. Working on almost every habitat type in Kent, there is a huge variety to do. With this team if you hang around long enough there isn't a job you wont get the chance to be involved with! Why is it important? As well as Ornithology, other interests in natural history are catered for through the Society's Sections which record and study the major groups of flora and fauna, and the habitats in which they are found. Meetings organised by each Section are open to all members. New members, beginners and experts alike, are welcomed. An extensive programme of talks and field meetings, to which visitors are welcome, is provided throughout the year. I refer to your letter of 18 December 2020 requesting an environmental impact assessment (“EIA”) scoping opinion from the Secretary of State under Regulation 18 of the Electricity Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2017. Your letter also contained an EIA scoping report entitled “Riverside Optimisation Project” prepared by Santec UK Limited dated December 2020. The scoping report sets out the further environmental information that Cory Environmental Holdings Limited (“the Applicant”) intend to provide in support of its proposed variation to the original consent for the RRRF energy from waste facility granted on 15 June 2006 and subsequently varied in March 2015. It also provides details of the topics to be scoped out of the EIA. The Applicant is currently operating the RRRF under the varied 2015 consent and a 1 planning permission issued by the London Borough of Bexley in October 2017 (the “2017 Permission”). 2. It is noted that the proposed amendment sought to the 2015 Section 36 consent will be to amend the power generation description of the RRRF to increase the stated maximum capacity from up to 72MW capacity to up to 80.5MW capacity.
