Dr.J.Dilip Babu, Director of Research co-ordinated the pro- gramme. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor accompanied Sri Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Hon’ble Minis- ter for Agriculture & Horticulture, Govt. of A.P during his visit to cyclone affected areas. Gandhi Jayanthi 150th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated at administrative office, all the constitu- ent colleges, Research Stations and Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Dr. YSRHU on 02nd October, 2018. Various competitions for students and staff members were conducted on this occasion and distrib- uted prizes to the participants who won the competitions viz., essay writing, elocution, and drawing Admn, Venkataramannagudem CoH, Venkataramannagudem KVK, Venkataramannagudem . Mahila Kisan Diwas At KVK, Venkataramannagudem Mahila Kisan Diwas program was conducted by KVK, Venkatar- mannagudem on 15.10.2018. In this programme, Sri.M. Ph.255767 (O) HISTORY OF DLSA IN VIZIANAGARAM DISTRICT The Parliament has enacted the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 with the primary objective of providing free and competent Legal Services to the weaker sections of the society and to organize Lok Adalats for the purpose of achieving the said goals. Many of the provisions of this Act have been amended in the year 1994. The Legal Services Authorities Act has brought into force with effect from 09­11­1995. An Act to constitute Legal Services Authority to provide free and competent legal services to the weaker sections of this society to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities, and to organize Lok Adalats to secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice on a basis of equal opportunity. Article 39­A of the Indian Constitution directs the state to provide “free legal aid” and “equal justice” to all the citizen by suitable legislation of schemes. These regulations may be called the National Legal Services Authority (Free and Competent Legal Services) Regulations, 2010. They shall be applicable to Supreme Court Legal Services aCommittee, State Legal Services Authorities, High Court Legal Services Committees, District Legal Services Authorities and Taluk Legal Services Committees in India. They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires, “Act” means the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 (39 of 1987); “Form” means a Form annexed to these Regulations; “front office” means a room in the Legal Services Institution where legal services are made available.

Gudem, A.P., India *Corresponding author ABSTRACT The agriculture sector benefits more from mobile phones in the developing countries as it saves money, time and offers accurate advantage for farmers. The mobile phone system can be used to alert villagers about disease outbreaks and other important agricultural information. Many of the K e yw or ds farmers suffer from lack of up to date, accurate market price information because of their remote location, or simply because they don‘t know how and where to get trustworthy information. A study Advisory services, was undertaken to assess the potential and use of mobile phones by farmers. The study sample Mobile telephony, comprised of 120 farmers, selected randomly from the farmers visiting Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Respondents Periyavaram, SPSR Nellore District, A.P. The study indicates that 24.16 % farmers owned a mobile Farming for more than 3 years and 85.84 percent received information related to agriculture from farmers.

Foun- dation stone for Farmers’ Hostel was laid by Sri. Prathipati Pulla Rao garu, Minister for Agriculture, Agri-Processing, Marketing & warehousing, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries along with Sri. P. Nararana, Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Urban Wa- ter Supply and Urban Planning, Sri. Kamineni Srinivas garu, Minister for Health and Medical Educa- tion, Govt of Andhra Pradesh in the presence of Dr.A.K.Singh, DDG(Agri.Extension), ICAR, New Delhi and Dr.B.M.C.Reddy, Vice Chancellor. The new KVK will cater the needs of farmers in twenty mandals located in southern part of Nellore district. Life time achievement award to the Vice-Chancellor Dr.B.M.C.Reddy, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor was awarded prestigious HSI- Shivashakti Life Time Achievement award-2016 by Horticultural Society of India. The award was presented by Sri S.S.Ahluwalia, Hon’ble Minister of state for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of India during 7th Indian Horticulture Congress-2016, New Delhi on 15.11.2016. The award was con- ferred in recognition of outstanding contributions made by Dr.B.M.C.Reddy for horticultural research on crops like banana, citrus, grape, pineapple, mango during his career at IIHR, Bengaluru in different positions, as Project Coordinator for AICRP on fruits, as Director of Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow and as Vice-Chancellor of Dr.YSRHU.

Chiranjiv Choudhary, IFS, Vice-Chancellor, Commis- sioner of Horticulture & Ex-officio Secretary to Govt of A.P and university officers. An exhibition with live specimens of different varieties and latest tech- nologies of Dr.YSRHU was arranged on the eve of 1st Andhra Pradesh Rytudinotsavam at Jamma- lamadugu, YSR district. Third Convocation of Dr.YSRHU The 3rd Convocation of Dr.Y.S.R Horticultural University was held on 01.07.2019 at University Head Quarters, Venkataramannagudem. Sri Chiranjiv Choudhary, IFS, Vice- Chancellor, Commissioner of Horticulture & Ex-officio Secretary to Govt. of A.P gave a report on the progress made in the university with regard to Education, Research and Extension. MoU Dr.Y.S.R.Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem entered into an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Society for Employment Generation and Enterprise Development in Andhra Pradesh (SEEDAP) on 17.09.2018. Spot Counseling Spot Counseling for Diploma in Horticultural Polytechnic for Gov- ernment and affiliated colleges was held at University campus, Venkataramannagudem on 26.09.2018 Education Anti Ragging Awareness Programme Antiragging awareness programme was organized by CoH, Venkataramannagudem on 29.09.2018. Sri.K.Vanisree, Chairman cum Senior Civil Judge, Tadepalligudem, Sri.M.S. Karimulla, Principal Jr Civil Judge, Sri K. Vasudeva Rao, AJFCM and Smt. Mohammad Ishrath Fathima, Additional Junior civil judge attended as guest speakers and delivered messages on “AP Ragging prohibi- tion Act, 1997” Legal Services Act and Domestic Violence Act, 2005 rules and regulations. All senior students have taken anti ragging pledge in front of all judges and staff members. Dr T. Suseela, Assoc Prof (Hort.) has co-ordinated the programme under the guidance of Dr.K.Uma Jyothi, Associ- ate Dean.
