DRAFT Walker County Subdivision Regulations Resolution & Order DRAFT Walker County Subdivision Regulations Resolution & Order THE STATE OF TEXAS § § KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: COUNTY OF WALKER § THAT ON THIS, the INPUT DATE OF ADOPTION, the Commissioners Court of Walker County, Texas, met in duly called and convened lawful Session at the County Courthouse in Huntsville, Texas, with the following members present: Robert D. Pierce County Judge Danny Kuykendall Commissioner, Precinct One Ronnie White Commissioner, Precinct Two Bill Daugette Commissioner, Precinct Three Jimmy Henry Commissioner, Precinct Four And at said meeting, among other business, came up for consideration and adoption the following Resolution and Order: · WHEREAS, the Commissioners Court of Walker County, Texas, has, after proper notice, held a public hearing concerning a proposed revision of the Walker County Subdivision Regulation; and WHEREAS, after soliciting the public's comments, the Commissioners Court finds that the adoption of revised Regulations will be in the public interest; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Walker County Commissioners Court hereby adopts the attached document as the revised Walker County Subdivision Regulations and orders that they be in full force and effect on INPUT EFFECTIVE DATE HERE; and FURTHER RESOLVED, that County Judge Robert D. Pierce be, and is hereby authorized to sign this Resolution and Order as the act and deed of the Walker County Com missioner's Court. The foregoing Resolution and order was lawfully moved by INPUT NAME OF COMMISSIONER, duly seconded by INPUT NAME OF COMMISSIONER, and duly adopted by the Commissioners Court on a vote of _____members for the motion and ______ member(s) opposed with _______ commissioner(s) being absent from the dais. ________________________________ DATE:________________________________ Robert D. They were further revised xxxxx. These Regulations shall be known as the Walker County Subdivision Regulations. These revised Regulations, as well as required review fees, shall apply to all new Applications received on or after the date that these revised Regulations were adopted by the Walker County Commissioners Court. Any subdivision applications that were originally submitted prior to that date shall be subject to the Regulations and

A revised statement of positions on "issues" was considered and adopted "provisionally" pending further study. Updates were given for State Parks an the BT Natural Heritage Trust, by Past- President Ellen Buchanan; an update on BTNP affairs was offered by Supt. Todd Brindle (See Preserve Overview), and Wendy Ledbetter, Executive Council President for the Thicket of Diversity (see Diversity Dispatch). The Nominating Committee offered a slate to fill expiring terms of officers and board members. Ballots will be mailed to the membership 30 days before the annual meeting October 9. Awards Committee recommendations will be headlined in the next issue. The group moved to the Pavilion to hear a great program of "pickin' and singin'" presented by Shaun Hunter and son Hunter Davis. Some additional friends and park visitors joined us. MEMBERS: Ballots to vote for officers and directors will be mailed soon to current members. This map is useful in planning the use and management of large areas. To find information about your area of interest, locate that area on the map, identify the name of the map unit in the area on the color-coded map legend, then refer to the section General Soil Map Units for a general description of the soils in your area. Detailed Soil Maps The detailed soil maps follow the general soil map. These maps can be useful in planning the use and management of small areas. To find information about your area of interest, locate that area on the Index to Map Sheets, which precedes the soil maps. Note the number of the map sheet and turn to that sheet.     TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE BIRDS OF LAKE LIVINGSTON S T A T E P A R K A FIELD CHECKLIST 2018 The Lake Livingston Environment Lake Livingston is a large artificial reservoir on the Trinity River in deep east Texas. It is bounded by Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, and Walker counties and is a centerpiece of that fabled wild land know colloquially as the Big Thicket. This Army Corps of Engineers project was designed for recreational use and as a holding site for the city of Houston’s water supply. Lake Livingston now provides 87% of Houston’s water supply and over 2.3 million people depend on Lake Livingston for their water. Such impoundments inundate many acres of habitat vital to a variety of plants and animals, but also provide many niches previously unavailable in the area. Birds are chief among the animals able to take advantage of such new niches due to their mobility. A large lake, such as the 90,000-acre Lake Livingston, is a convenient migration stopover for many waterfowl and shorebird species and a winter refuge for others. The lake is a dramatic example of how bird populations are affected by changes in habitat. Prior to its damming the Trinity River was little more than an aerial highway for a few cormorants, ducks, and shorebirds. However, by the late 1970s the new lake had become headquarters for the world’s largest concentration of Double-breasted Cormorants as well as thousands of ducks and gulls. At times, hidden among the thousands of Bonaparte’s and Ring-Billed Gulls, are a host of rarities.
