ALL SAINTS MARGARET STREET LONDON W1 APPOINTMENT OF FOURTEENTH INCUMBENT THE PARISH PROFILE STATEMENT DESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS, NEEDS AND TRADITIONS OF THE PARISH JULY 2020 1 Two quotations from former Parish Priests of All Saints relevant today: Henry Falconer Barclay Mackay – Fifth Vicar 1908 – 1934 “What is All Saints’, Margaret Street? It is a parish church in very little more than name. Few people and scarcely any Church People live in the tiny district, full now of day workrooms and wholesale businesses, which is bounded by Mortimer Street on the north, Oxford Street on the south, Great Portland Street on the west, and which on the east does not even include the near side of Wells Street. From the first it was intended that All Saints’ should diffuse an urbi et orbi ministry. It was to be a rallying point for the Catholic movement in the Church of England.” Parish Paper for October 1919. Quoted by Fr Moses thirteenth Vicar of All Saints in the Parish Paper for October 2019. [In 1919 the population of the parish then was around 2,000; the population of the enlarged parish is now only around 300 people.] Kenneth Needham Ross – Eighth Vicar 1951 – 1969, on the Mission of All Saints “Early in this century All Saints’ was described by a well-known and sympathetic observer as an “extinct volcano”. Whether that was just or not, it certainly started erupting again under Mackay’s inspired leadership. The parish work might diminish and almost reach vanishing point, but the mission of All Saints Church to London as a whole increased.

  • The Parish of All Saints with St John, Stamford
The Parish of All Saints with St John, Stamford Parish Profile 2019 www.stamfordallsaints.org.uk All Saints with St John Parish Profile 2019 1 WELCOME BY THE BISHOP OF GRIMSBY, The Rt. Revd Dr David Court Thank you for taking time to look at this particular post within the Diocese of Lincoln, As one of the largest diocese in the country stretching from the Humber estuary in the North to the Wash in the South we are home to a population of just over 1,000,000 people living a variety of different settings from the urban centres of Grimsby and Cleethorpes and Scunthorpe, the City of Lincoln, the market towns, the coastal strip, the new housing developments and the many, many small villages which mark our landscape. All are equally important to us, and all we are seeking to serve in making known the good news of Jesus that has been entrusted to us. In preparation for our recent ‘Peer Review’ we put together our diocesan mission and vision statements and summarised our intention as follows ‘Our aim then is to grow the Church, in both numbers and depth, through attention to what we see as our core tasks of faithful worship, confident discipleship and joyful service with the vision of being a healthy, vibrant, sustainable church which leads to transformed lives and communities across greater Lincolnshire making a difference in God’s world. To that end as a diocese we shall support, encourage and enable local parishes, benefices and mission communities to fulfil, within this framework, their own unique calling to serve in mission the community or communities in which they are set’.

Affirmed and Opinion filed September 14, 2000. In The Fourteenth Court of Appeals ____________ NO. 14-99-00744-CV ____________ CYNTHIA EVERETT RANDOLPH and LLOYD E. KELLEY, Appellants V. JACKSON WALKER L.L.P., and N. DAVID BLEISCH, Appellees On Appeal from the 127th District Court Harris County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. 97-45492A O P I N I O N This is a defamation case which was resolved in the trial court by Rule 13 death penalty sanctions. Appellants, Cynthia Randolph and Lloyd Kelley, challenge the trial court’s order striking that portion of their pleadings containing claims against Jackson Walker L.L.P. and David Bleisch, attorneys for the appellees.1 On appeal, appellants claim the trial court erred 1 In the trial court, Randolph and Kelley sued the appellees reflected in the style of this case, and Wayne Dolcefino, KTRK Television. Inc., C C Texas Holding Co., Inc., Capital Cities/ABC, Inc., Henry (continued...) when it granted appellees’ motion for sanctions because: (1) section 10.001 of the Texas Civil Practices & Remedies Code does not support the sanctions issued; (2) the court improperly made factual determinations of contested issues in a Rule 13 proceeding; (3) the claims against the attorney defendants are not groundless because the defamatory statements were published; and (4) appellees’ attorneys cannot claim absolute privilege. We affirm. I. Factual and Procedural Background The facts underlying this case are that Wayne Dolcefino, an investigative reporter with KTRK Television, conducted an investigation of Lloyd Kelley, who at the time was Houston’s City Controller, uncovering Kelley’s questionable business practices.

  • May 21, 2019, Dear Speaker Pelosi, Leader Mccarthy
May 21, 2019, Dear Speaker Pelosi, Leader McCarthy, Chairman Nadler, and Ranking Member Collins, We, the undersigned national, state, and local education, civil and human rights, LGBTQ+, labor, national security, faith, grassroots, and immigrants’ rights organizations, write to express our support for the American Dream and Promise Act as it goes before the House Judiciary Committee for markup. The legislation would put immigrant youth known as Dreamers and long-time beneficiaries of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) on a roadmap to citizenship. Over the past two years, the Trump administration has taken steps to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and strip status from nearly every individual with TPS and all of those with DED. Only a small number of preliminary injunctions prevent these individuals from facing the prospect of detention and deportation. The administration’s actions are inflicting enormous pain and uncertainty on more than a million people—not to mention their families and their communities who face an impending separation crisis. These individuals live in every state and every congressional district. They are our classmates and our teachers, our coworkers and our employers. They worship with us and help to keep us safe. They contribute to our great nation in myriad ways. The average DACA recipient came to the country at age six, while the average TPS holder has been in the country for 22 years. Between them, they have nearly 500,000 U.S. citizen children, not to mention many hundreds of thousands more U.S. citizen parents, spouses, and siblings, all of whom are suffering already and will suffer still more if the Trump administration is successful in ending their protections.

Our vision A spiritually alive world Our mission Reimagining church with courage, joy and wonder On All Saints’ Day, heaven and earth kiss each other. PHOTO: CREATIVE COMMONS CC0 All Saints’ Sunday Sunday, November 3, 2019 11 a.m. Holy Eucharist Welcome to Grace Cathedral Welcome to this sacred place where we are reimagining church with courage, joy and wonder. Every year we choose a theme to help us explore new ideas and to listen for God’s calling. In 2019 our theme is the Year of the Body. Our body is the way we meet the world and the world meets us. Although we share much that is in common, our bodies are each unique and particular, and every body is worthy of respect. We believe that God participated in the world through a body. So we will be examining how we care for bodies, how we treat different kinds of bodies and how we are part of the earth’s body. This year we will dance together, eat together and study what it means for Christians to understand the church as the Body of Christ. We invite you to be part of this body, this joyful community, even if your visit is short. How is God inviting you to be more truly alive today? What are our bodies saying to us? May God bless you in this holy place! – The Very Rev. Dr. Malcolm Clemens Young, Dean of Grace Cathedral • If you are new to Grace Cathedral, please introduce yourself and fill out a welcome card so we can be in touch with you.
