FIspace will develop a multi-domain Business Collaboration Space (short: FIspace) that employs FI technologies for enabling seamless collaboration in open, cross-organizational business net- works, establish eight working Experimentation Sites in Europe where Pilot Applications are tested in Early Trials for Agri-Food, Transport & Logistics and prepare for industrial uptake by engaging with play- ers & associations from relevant industry sectors and IT industry. Project Summary As a use case project in Phase 2 of the FI PPP, FIspace aims at developing and validating novel Future- Internet-enabled solutions to address the pressing challenges arising in collaborative business networks, focussing on use cases from the Agri-Food, Transport and Logistics industries. FIspace will focus on ex- ploiting, incorporating and validating the Generic Enablers provided by the FI PPP Core Platform with the aim of realising an extensible collaboration service for business networks together with a set of innovative test applications that allow for radical improvements in how networked businesses can work in the future. Those solutions will be demonstrated and tested through early trials on experimentation sites across Eu- rope. The project results will be open to the FI PPP program and the general public, and the pro-active engagement of larger user communities and external solution providers will foster innovation and indus- trial uptake planned for Phase 3 of the FI PPP. The latter dimension of standardization is covered by FIspace Task 540 of which this document repre- sents the first out of three deliverables covering the investigation on technology standards for cross secto- rial system and data integration. It contains on the one hand a compilation of standards relevant to the agri food and logistics sector and enriches this on the other hand with relevant standards for building electronic platforms to apply business applications onto. Hence, this document is intended to guide the use case trials (WP400) concerning the use of standards and related technology to ensure standards are used throughout the FIspace project wherever possible. This deliverable is partly based on the work of the SmartAgriFood Deliverable 600.2 ‘Plan for standardisa- tion for large scale experimentation’ [1] (The former project SmartAgriFood addressed the food and agri- business as a use case for the Future Internet.). Several platform technologies have been identified and described in this document concerning application development, server-side components, event-processing, application store, system and data integration and security. System architecture considerations have been taken into account. Moreover, agriculture sector specific standards regarding identification, labelling, communication and certification have been identified and described. As forming a momentous for future internet applications, semantic web technologies have been given extra attention by integrating it into the context of FIspace. The document will guide the trials of the FIspace project regarding available standards and specifications. It is the first step within an iterative process providing application developers within the FIspace trials with a tool box of what exists today and receive their feedback for improvements where considered necessary.     ANNUAL REPORT 2014-2015 School of Sciences and Mathematics Annual Report 2014‐2015 Executive Summary The 2014 – 2015 academic year was a very successful one for the School of Sciences and Mathematics (SSM). Our faculty continued their stellar record of publication and securing extramural funding, and we were able to significantly advance several capital projects. In addition, the number of majors in SSM remained very high and we continued to provide research experiences for a significant number of our students. We welcomed four new faculty members to our ranks. These individuals and their colleagues published 187 papers in peer‐reviewed scientific journals, many with undergraduate co‐authors. Faculty also secured $6.4M in new extramural grant awards to go with the $24.8M of continuing awards. During the 2013‐14 AY, ground was broken for two 3,000 sq. ft. field stations at Dixie Plantation, with construction slated for completion in Fall 2014. These stations were ultimately competed in June 2015, and will begin to serve students for the Fall 2015 semester. The 2014‐2015 academic year, marked the first year of residence of Computer Science faculty, as well as some Biology and Physics faculty, in Harbor Walk. In addition, nine Biology faculty had offices and/or research space at SCRA, and some biology instruction occurred at MUSC. In general, the displacement of a large number of students to Harbor Walk went very smoothly. Temporary astronomy viewing space was secured on the roof of one of the College’s garages. The SSM dean’s office expended tremendous effort this year to secure a contract for completion of the Rita Hollings Science Center renovation, with no success to date.

Then we checked this application with some other database solutions such as Triple Store (Jena TDB) and Relational database (Jena SDB). After that we performed SPARQL Queries to get results that reads from databases we have used, on the basis of results that we received after performing SPARQL Queries, we made an analysis on the performance and efficiency of databases. In these results we found that Triple Stores (Jena TDB) have capabilities to response very fast among other databases.

Digital cultural heritage repositories have therefore become an efficient and effective way to disseminate and exploit digital cultural heritage data. However, many digital cultural heritage repositories worldwide share technical challenges such as data integration and interoperability among national and regional digital cultural heritage repositories. The result is dispersed and poorly-linked cultured heritage data, backed by non-standardized search interfaces, which thwart users’ attempts to contextualize information from distributed repositories. A recently introduced geospatial semantic web is being adopted by a great many new and existing digital cultural heritage repositories to overcome these challenges. However, no one has yet conducted a conceptual survey of the geospatial semantic web concepts for a cultural heritage audience. A conceptual survey of these concepts pertinent to the cultural heritage field is, therefore, needed. Such a survey equips cultural heritage professionals and practitioners with an overview of all the necessary tools, and free and open source semantic web and geospatial semantic web platforms that can be used to implement geospatial semantic web-based cultural heritage repositories.
