  • UFO WAVES: an INTERNATIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHY Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos FOTOCAT Project [email protected]
UFO WAVES: AN INTERNATIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHY Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos FOTOCAT Project [email protected] Introduction In the study of UFO phenomena there are several topics that emerge as key issues for the understanding and potential resolution of this worldwide enigma. The subject of UFO waves and UFO flaps is, evidently, one of these. Compiling bibliographies of research items has been a recurrent interest in my investigative life (1-7), as I have always thought that, as in mainstream science disciplines, progress is linked to the knowledge of prior work in the field. Those who ignore what their senior colleagues have produced on a given matter waste time duplicating past efforts or are unable to build upon previous finds. Over the years, the field of ufology has produced many authoritative bibliographies. With a few exceptions, these are general lists of literature, sometimes annotated, but usually not organized by topic (8-28). Nevertheless, these assist the researcher and represent an academic advancement. As I am committed to the concept of achieving a synthesis of knowledge in some of the main areas of the study of UFOs (29), I think a more pragmatic approach is to design a series of very specific, subject-focused bibliographies. As a practical example, I have combed through my files to create a thorough bibliography of articles and papers related to the mystery of UFO waves, those periods when UFO reporting increases noticeably and suddenly with respect to average historical records. I have been assisted by a number of top scholars who have contributed references, actual materials, pdfs and online links to create what is intended to be a comprehensive list of the literature on this subject published all over the world.

Vallee CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales) “Collecte et Analyse des Informations sur les Phénomènes Aérospatiaux non-identifiés” GEIPAN International Workshop, Paris, 8-9 July 2014. J.Vallee A Strategy for UAP Research Paris, July 2014 p. 1 UNIDENTIFIED AERIAL PHENOMENA: A STRATEGY FOR RESEARCH (*) Jacques F. Vallee Documatica Research, LLC P.O.Box 641650 San Francisco, California Abstract After years of ideological arguments based on anecdotal data the field of UAP research appears ready to emerge into a more mature phase of reliable study. Renewed scientific interest now exists in many countries, based on credible official or semi-official documents. Without pre-judging the origin and nature of the phenomena, a range of opportunities arise for investigation, hard data analysis and new theoretical exploration. In order to avoid repeating past errors, however, such projects need to generate new hypotheses and test them in a rigorous way against the accumulated reports of thousands of observers. Unfortunately such a repository of reliable global data does not yet exist. Furthermore, the level of difficulty in assembling it has either been ignored or underestimated. The purpose of this paper is to briefly review previous work in the compilation of UAP databases and outline some new directions for research. We also raise the question of identifying researchable issues and consistent ontologies in the UAP domain. With respect to the last point, the challenges of data collection and analysis over a limited territory are illustrated by a longitudinal study of 167 screened UAP observations performed by researcher Jean-François Boëdec in the département of Finistère between 1950 and 1981.

In this series, I share a lot of new information regarding the alien and UFO phenomenon, which is not included in the original article. As such, I encourage my long-time readers to take the time to study it. To acquire a balanced understanding of my views concerning the alien and UFO phenomenon, I likewise encourage you to also read "Alien Life, Extrasolar Planets and Universal Atonement", "Keeping Things in Proper Perspective: ET, Where Are You?"and other articles which are listed at the end of this series. The original 1997 version of this article was the result of a two-year study I conducted regarding New Age thought and UFOlogy. The vast majority of the material which I read and archived, was obtained from the Internet, and there was, and still is, plenty of it. If one takes the time, he will find all kinds of interesting topics to explore, including MJ-12, Bill Cooper and the famous Krill Papers, the Space Brothers, the strange goings-on at Area 51 S-4, Pleiadian channeling, the photon belt and moving into a higher dimension, secret underground alien bases such as "Dulce", Remote Viewing, the Philadelphia Experiment, the Roswell UFO crash, the quatrains of Nostradamus, the Hollow Earth theory, Zacharia Sitchin and the Twelfth Planet, alien abductions and alien-human hybrids, and a lot more.

  • Ambiguous Intrusions: the Ufo / Alien Encounter Phenomenon and the Politics of Repression
AMBIGUOUS INTRUSIONS: THE UFO / ALIEN ENCOUNTER PHENOMENON AND THE POLITICS OF REPRESSION By NIGEL D’SA Integrated Studies Final Project Essay (MAIS 700) submitted to Dr. Paul Kellogg in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts – Integrated Studies Athabasca, Alberta April, 2014 ii Abstract Despite a growing body of scholarly and scientific literature, the topic of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects) – and the related question of alien encounters – still elicits profound scepticism, dismissal, and ridicule within the academic community and the sciences. This reaction is indicative of a ‘UFO taboo’ – a concerted effort to marginalize and suppress recognition of the UFO. The UFO taboo operates in society as an ‘epistemology of ignorance’ that relegates the subject to the realm of science fiction, tabloid journalism, fringe theories and collective cultural fantasy. A literature review of the leading scholarly work on the subject will serve both to contextualize the history of the UFO problem, and counter the inviolability of the taboo. This paper will outline some disciplinary perspectives beginning with an examination of the political theory behind the taboo. The school of Transpersonal Psychology, the pioneering work of John E. Mack, and a parallel approach in Anthropology will help us conceptualize the most controversial aspect of the phenomenon: the alien abduction experience. The paper concludes with a summary of the major explanatory hypotheses for UFOs and abductions, and points to the need for an international interdisciplinary research project. This paper makes no attempt to solve the UFO problem. But by asking what the UFO – through its insistent presence and our strange apathy towards its presence – can tell us about our world, our systems of knowledge, and our systems of rule, the paper argues for the importance of the phenomenon and the onus that is placed on science and the academy to legitimate its study and contribute to our understanding of it.

  • Ufos and Exogenous Intelligence Encounters
UFOs and Exogenous Intelligence Encounters E S P I 43 PERSPECTIVES UFOs and Exogenous Intelligence Encounters Philippe AILLERIS , Founder of the UAP Observations Reporting Scheme The search for extraterrestrial life has fascinated scientists and the public alike for over half a century. In recent years, astronomers and planetary scientists have multiplied their efforts to discover life forms by probing planets suitable for supporting its development with telescopes and robotic exploration missions. Although the probability of discovering micro-organisms on other planets is increasing, the prospect of making contact with developed, intelligent extraterrestrial beings remains distant. However, such an event can not be excluded; it may happen unexpectedly and under as yet unforeseen circumstances, but it remains in the realm of possibility. In fact, recent opinion polls have shown that a large part of the public considers such an event as very probable, or that it has even taken place already. Although the popularised perception of such “close encounters of the third kind” in the form of UFO sightings is scientifically unfounded, it helps to build public support for space exploration missions, advance scientific knowledge on atmospheric phenomena and psychologically prepare the public for encountering extraterrestrial life. Furthermore, one should not necessarily assume that such a contact would be initiated by humans, or that we would be able to realise and comprehend it based on our own experience and intellect. After all, it would be the greatest discovery in the history of mankind. “…The idea of benign or hostile super beings from form in the universe, and the quest will keep other planets visiting the earth clearly belongs in haunting us as long as we have not found it, such a list of emotion-rich ideas.
