UFO WAVES: an INTERNATIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHY Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos FOTOCAT Project [email protected]
UFO WAVES: AN INTERNATIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHY Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos FOTOCAT Project [email protected] Introduction In the study of UFO phenomena there are several topics that emerge as key issues for the understanding and potential resolution of this worldwide enigma. The subject of UFO waves and UFO flaps is, evidently, one of these. Compiling bibliographies of research items has been a recurrent interest in my investigative life (1-7), as I have always thought that, as in mainstream science disciplines, progress is linked to the knowledge of prior work in the field. Those who ignore what their senior colleagues have produced on a given matter waste time duplicating past efforts or are unable to build upon previous finds. Over the years, the field of ufology has produced many authoritative bibliographies. With a few exceptions, these are general lists of literature, sometimes annotated, but usually not organized by topic (8-28). Nevertheless, these assist the researcher and represent an academic advancement. As I am committed to the concept of achieving a synthesis of knowledge in some of the main areas of the study of UFOs (29), I think a more pragmatic approach is to design a series of very specific, subject-focused bibliographies. As a practical example, I have combed through my files to create a thorough bibliography of articles and papers related to the mystery of UFO waves, those periods when UFO reporting increases noticeably and suddenly with respect to average historical records. I have been assisted by a number of top scholars who have contributed references, actual materials, pdfs and online links to create what is intended to be a comprehensive list of the literature on this subject published all over the world. -

The Rise of Talk Radio and Its Impact on Politics and Public Policy
Mount Rushmore: The Rise of Talk Radio and Its Impact on Politics and Public Policy Brian Asher Rosenwald Wynnewood, PA Master of Arts, University of Virginia, 2009 Bachelor of Arts, University of Pennsylvania, 2006 A Dissertation presented to the Graduate Faculty of the University of Virginia in Candidacy for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy Department of History University of Virginia August, 2015 !1 © Copyright 2015 by Brian Asher Rosenwald All Rights Reserved August 2015 !2 Acknowledgements I am deeply indebted to the many people without whom this project would not have been possible. First, a huge thank you to the more than two hundred and twenty five people from the radio and political worlds who graciously took time from their busy schedules to answer my questions. Some of them put up with repeated follow ups and nagging emails as I tried to develop an understanding of the business and its political implications. They allowed me to keep most things on the record, and provided me with an understanding that simply would not have been possible without their participation. When I began this project, I never imagined that I would interview anywhere near this many people, but now, almost five years later, I cannot imagine the project without the information gleaned from these invaluable interviews. I have been fortunate enough to receive fellowships from the Fox Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania and the Corcoran Department of History at the University of Virginia, which made it far easier to complete this dissertation. I am grateful to be a part of the Fox family, both because of the great work that the program does, but also because of the terrific people who work at Fox. -

RADIO Monthly journal of the D X New Zealand Radio DX League (est. 1948) D X September 2002 - Volume 54 Number 11 LEAGUE http://radiodx.com LEAGUE Compiled by Station Profile: Adam Claydon Classic Hits Radio Waitomo Te Kuiti Radio Waitomo 1ZW started on the 15th of March 1985. It was part of the Radio New Zealand commercial network broadcasting on 1170 kHz. On the 1st of August 1996 The Radio Network (TRN) bought Radio Waitomo, and it became a part of the Community Network (CRN), which is based in Taupo. On the 1st of December 2000 Radio Waitomo became part of the Classic Hits network and the station name was changed to Classic Hits Radio Waitomo. That meant the existing CRN feed from Taupo was replaced with the Classic Hits feed from Auckland. Classic Hits Radio Waitomo has now been broadcasting for over 17 years. The studios are located in a building on Taupiri Street in Te Kuiti. The transmitter is located near the Waitomo Caves. The station still only broadcasts on 1170AM and the coverage area is from Te Awamutu in the north, through Otorohanga and Te Kuiti, and down to Piopio and Aria in the south. Classic Hits Radio Waitomo is one of only three Classic Hits stations still on AM. My primary role at the station is breakfast host. I have been working there since January this year. I broadcast live from 6 to 10 am Monday to Saturday mornings (I have Sunday off!) From 10am until 6am the next morning we receive our announcers and music feed from Classic Hits in Auckland. -

Despite all this time watching the sky, without any distractions, I have yet to see anything I could not identify. Over the period of the maximum, hundreds of amateur astronomers all over the world were watching the sky without any optical aid other than their eyes. -

UNIDENTIFIED AERIAL PHENOMENA A Strategy for Research Jacques F. Vallee CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales) “Collecte et Analyse des Informations sur les Phénomènes Aérospatiaux non-identifiés” GEIPAN International Workshop, Paris, 8-9 July 2014. J.Vallee A Strategy for UAP Research Paris, July 2014 p. 1 UNIDENTIFIED AERIAL PHENOMENA: A STRATEGY FOR RESEARCH (*) Jacques F. Vallee Documatica Research, LLC P.O.Box 641650 San Francisco, California Abstract After years of ideological arguments based on anecdotal data the field of UAP research appears ready to emerge into a more mature phase of reliable study. Renewed scientific interest now exists in many countries, based on credible official or semi-official documents. Without pre-judging the origin and nature of the phenomena, a range of opportunities arise for investigation, hard data analysis and new theoretical exploration. In order to avoid repeating past errors, however, such projects need to generate new hypotheses and test them in a rigorous way against the accumulated reports of thousands of observers. Unfortunately such a repository of reliable global data does not yet exist. Furthermore, the level of difficulty in assembling it has either been ignored or underestimated. The purpose of this paper is to briefly review previous work in the compilation of UAP databases and outline some new directions for research. We also raise the question of identifying researchable issues and consistent ontologies in the UAP domain. With respect to the last point, the challenges of data collection and analysis over a limited territory are illustrated by a longitudinal study of 167 screened UAP observations performed by researcher Jean-François Boëdec in the département of Finistère between 1950 and 1981.
