  • Runway Analysis
CHAPTER 5 RUNWAY ANALYSIS 5 5 RUNWAY ANALYSIS INTRODUCTION The primary issue to be addressed in the William R. Fairchild International Airport (CLM) Master Plan involves the ultimate length and configuration of the runway system. At present there are two runways; primary Runway 8/26 and crosswind Runway 13/31. Runway 8/26 is 6,347 feet long and 150-feet wide with a displaced threshold of 1,354 feet on the approach end to Runway 26. The threshold was displaced to provide for an unobstructed visual approach slope of 20:1. Runway 13/31 is designated as the crosswind runway and is 3,250-feet long by 50-feet wide. In the 1997 ALP Update, the FAA determined that this runway was not required to provide adequate wind coverage and would not be eligible for FAA funding of any improvements in the future. The Port of Port Angeles has committed to keeping this runway functional without FAA support for as long as it is feasible. Subsequent sections of this analysis will reexamine the need for the runway. Both runways are supported by parallel taxiway systems with Taxiway A serving Runway 8/26 and Taxiway J for Runway 13/31. Taxiway A is 40 feet wide and Taxiway J is 50 feet wide. AIRFIELD REQUIREMENTS In determining airfield requirements, FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5300-13, Airport Design (Change 14), has been consulted. This circular requires that future classification of the airport be defined as the basis for airfield planning criteria. As shown in the forecast chapter, the critical aircraft at CLM is expected to be the small business jet represented by the Cessna Citation within 5-years.

Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport Airport Master Plan Update CHAPTER 4 FACILITY REQUIREMENTS The existing and future facility needs of Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (Metro or Airport) are the focus of this chapter. The facility needs are based on the Airport’s existing facilities, aviation activity forecast, and Jefferson County’s strategic vision and direction for the future of the Airport and community. Specific facility expansion and airport development alternatives to meet the future facility needs are addressed in Chapter 5, Identification, and Evaluation of Alternatives. 4.1 SUMMARY A summary of the facility development needed to accommodate the forecast growth at Metro is provided in this section. Certain identified facilities will need further analysis based on the recommended development alternatives. Key conclusions from the facility requirement analysis include: • Critical aircraft changes from a Grumman Gulfstream II to a Gulfstream G550, which is an adjustment in Aircraft Reference Code (ARC) from D-II to D-III. (See section 4.2.2 - Critical Aircraft Identification and Airport Reference Code) • The demand capacity ratio is expected to grow throughout the planning period from 54 percent today to 93 percent in 2030. Additional airfield capacity analysis should be done to support major airfield investment decisions, and to help reduce the Annual Service Volume (ASV) ratio during this planning period. (See section - 4.3.2 Airfield Capacity) • The runway magnetic azimuths for Runways 11L/29R, 11R/29L and 2/20 are several minutes over the existing declination; therefore, the runways are in need of a redesignation. The redesignation should be timed to correspond with the pavement maintenance or improvements to the runways.

Estudi de mercat i d’aeronaus similars 2. Dimensionament preliminar 3. Configuració preliminar 4. Actuacions 5.

C-1A and EC-1A . Refer also to E-1, S-2, S2F, TF, WF C-2 Grumman 123 Greyhound Specifications: span: 80'7", 24.56 m length: 56'8", 17.27 m engines: 2 Allison T56-A-8A max. speed: 352 mph, 566 km/h (Source: US Navy) The Greyhound was a transport version of the E-2A which had carrier capability and could transport up to 39 passengers. The principal modification was the new fuselage. Two E-2As, with serials 148147 and 148148 were converted as the YC-2A prototypes and the first flight was made on 18 November 1964. The production version was the C-2A which was built in two batches. The latest aircraft were fitted with Allison T56-A-425 engines. 56 aircraft were built and the serials were 152786/152797, 155120/155124 and 162140/162178. A number of aircraft with serials 155125/155136 were cancelled. The designation C-2C , advanced in some websites, appears to be incorrect and refers to aircraft designated as C-2A. They keep the windshield and window surfaces clean and help prevent vandalism and theft. The Grumman Gulfstream II, III (C-20D) Cockpit/Nose Cover is designed to cover the windshield and side windows of the cockpit. Attachment buckles are made of nonmetal Delrin, designed for rugged outdoor use. The windshield cover comes with a duffle bag. The N-number can be imprinted onto the cover for an extra charge. The windshield cover is trimmed in the colors of the aircraft. This cover type is made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas and is 100% lined with a soft and smooth microfiber. Bruce's Custom Covers developed this material combination especially for aircraft protection. The outer material is medium weight and treated for water resistance, UV resistance and anti-static buildup. The inner lining is a very soft and smooth microfiber to prevent scratching. The material is very reflective, and tests show that the cabin interior temperature can be reduced to near-ambient temperature on the hottest of days.

PHOTO: RICK PATERALA the last flight of the First GII BY MATT BIRCH eing an airplane enthusiast since childhood, and later an airplane photographer, I grew up appreciating aviation in the 1970s and 1980s — a golden era Bfor the charismatic, smoky, noisy jets. The Grumman Gulfstream GII was always my favorite, with its simple elegant lines, and for years I have followed the history of these wonderful airplanes. As their numbers began to decline in recent years as airplanes were withdrawn from service, to be replaced by more contemporary machinery, it only strengthened my resolve to photograph and document the fates of these airplanes before they disappeared for good. This quest eventually led me to the experience of a lifetime. Following on from the successful GI turboprop, the first Grumman Gulfstream II took to the air in October 1966 from Grumman's Bethpage, N.Y., facility. It was one of only a handful of the total of 256 GIIs that were initially built in Bethpage before the production line moved to the current site in Savannah. Galvin, a noted industrialist and innovator. He was the son of Paul Galvin, the founder of the Motorola Corporation, and served as Matt Birch captured some final photos with the aircraft. 32 waypoint | Summer 2013 waypoint | Summer 2013 33 in such good shape for its age.
